Palm Beach County Full Moon Drum Circle - Lake Worth Beach

Monthly on the full Moon, 8-11pm (or later - till they close the park),
free (except for parking meters)

IN FEBRUARY WE HAD OVER 150 PEOPLE - DRUMMERS, DANCERS, AND FIRE-PERFORM-
ERS. THIS HAS BECOME A WONDERFUL CELEBRATION - NOT TO BE MISSED!

Held: On the beach just north of the Lake Worth Ocean Pier, at the back
of the park, Lake Ave. at A1A, Lake Worth FL

The beach & park officially close at 11pm, although rarely does anyone
come around to enforce that. Remember, it can be chilly on the beach
during the cooler months - dress accordingly. If it rains, or gets too
windy, we drum/dance under the huge picnic shelter (pavilion) in the
same park, 100 yds. west of the beach - you drive past it on your left
after you've entered the park.

Directions:

* From I-95:
- Southbound
1. Exit 10th Ave. North - eastbound
2. Turn right (south) on Dixie Hwy (US1) or Federal Hwy.
3. Turn left (east) on Lake Ave.
4. See 5-10 below
- Northbound
1. Exit 6th Ave. South - eastbound
2. Turn left (north) on Dixie Hwy (US1) or Federal Hwy.
3. Turn right (east) on Lake Ave.
4. See 5-10 below

* From the Florida Turnpike:
1. Exit Lake Worth Rd. east
2. Eventually it turns into Lake Ave.
3. See 5-10 below

* In every case:
5. Cross the Intercoastal Waterway going east
6. Cross A1A
7. Enter the park & bear right (the road makes a large counterclock-
wise circle)
8. Go all the way around the back, and just past the Ocean Pier
9. Park between the pier and the 1st lifeguard station to the north
10. Parking costs $1/hr. till midnight - pay at the central meters
& put the receipt on your dashboard. Parking tickets cost $20-25.

Jupiter Beach Full Moon Drum Circle - CANCELED

The organizers have informed me that they will no longer be hosting this
drum circle. They are professional musicians and often have a performance
on this night. They said that they may replace the full Moon drum circle
with something bi-weekly on the beach. Details will follow.

Full Moon Drum Circle - On the Beach

Monthly on the full moon, 8pm (or Moonrise) till 1am, free

Established 1995. There's a 15-minute Pagan full moon ritual at 10pm.
Remember, it can be chilly on the beach during the cooler months -
dress accordingly. Public restrooms available. "No Alcohol - No Drugs -
No Fire! - or we risk losing this location!"

Held: on the beach, just north of the Pompano Beach Pier, 222 N. Pompano
Beach Blvd. (2 blocks north of Atlantic Blvd.), Pompano Beach FL.
Take the walking path to the beach just north of the Fisherman's Wharf
(pier). Free parking at the lot across the street to the west.
In case of rain, they're under the pavilion north of the pier.

Full Moon Drum Circle - On the Beach in Miami Beach

Monthly on the night of the full moon
Time: (there is some controversy) - some say that it starts at 9:30 or
10pm, others say 8 or 8:30pm. It continues till "very late", and is
free. Note: it's starting earlier now that Daylight Savings Time has
ended. Remember, it can be chilly on the beach during the cooler
months - dress accordingly.

Held at:
"The public announcements for the Full Moon Eve and Full Moon Night
drum circles were stopped because the rave/wild beach party atmosphere
that had developed, including large numbers of young people and alcohol/
drugs, drew the attention of the local authorities, and caused arrests
and closing of some drum circles by the police."

"This does not mean that the drum circles have stopped. The are just not
being publicly advertised. People are getting in touch with each other
directly and going out to drum at various different places on Miami Beach
on the Full Moon Eve, the Full Moon Night, and even the New Moon Night.

"Sometimes we use the open discussion site [listed below] to coordinate,
but mostly we just call each other by phone."

same information applies here as well.

Some good drummers come the night BEFORE the full moon to avoid the chaos
of the full moon drum circle. Remember, it can be chilly on the beach
during the cooler months - dress accordingly.

Full Moon Party - Tobacco Road Drum Circle & Music Jam

Drum circle starting at midnight (according to their website) or at
"10-ish or 11-ish" according to the MiamiDrum newsletter; $5 cover charge,
but free if you register on their website for a "musicians' card" (good
for free admission every night of the week). In case of rain they put up
a cover over the outdoor patio.

"A party in honor of south Florida's community of musicians. Featuring
live music (open mic and jam sessions), a drum circle, and food/drink
specials." This is a new full Moon circle that already attracts a circle
of drummers and 2 fire-dancers.
