dance to go transcend our hearts. We dance to heal or erase negative
thoughts and emotions. We dance to release shame, blame, and guilt and
build conscious intention. We dance to release worry and connect to
the wisdom of our ancestors. We dance to mend the broken heart and

Their website says:
"A drum circle is a group of people coming together to create in-the-mo-
ment music using hand drums and percussion instruments. A drum circle
is not a percussion ensemble performing a prepared piece of music, or a
drumming class led by a teacher, nor any group that is re-creating music
that it has played before. Drum circles are a form of recreational mu-
sic-making, which means that the focus is not on performance but rather
on personal, group development, reducing stress, dance, meeting people,
relaxing, wellness, or just plain fun."

2. NO FACILITATOR. (PLAY WHAT YOU WANT)
3. BEGINNERS TO ADVANCED

things (which you may call God/Goddess, Spirit, Nature, laws of evo-
lution, etc.). The Tequesta (tuh-kes-tuh) Drum Circle is named after
one of the ancient tribes who inhabited lands around SE Florida prior
to European and Seminole arrival - and gives us an opportunity to re-
member that legacy. Ceremonial dress is welcomed, but not required."
"This is a family-oriented celebration for those who hold the impor-
tance of our relationship to our home planet, the Earth. Come be a
part of the celebration, look up into the night sky, breathe, and re-
member our intrinsic connection to both planet and universe."
"Every 90 days or so our planet transits a key point on its journey
around our parent Star which shifts the balance of light entering into
our world. This light continually feeds a tremendously complex array
of living systems that have co-evolved for billions of years. The shift
creates a cascading ebb and flow of cycles in each hemisphere creating
what we know as Spring, Summer, Winter, and Fall, and inspires us to
observe these natural transits of our planet as Sacred Days."
* Photography: Please respect people. Do not take photos without permis-
sion! No random photography!
* NO drunkenness or intoxication. Moderate yourselves.
* Recycle. Bins will be provided.
* Information table available for folks wishing to distribute ecological,
holistic, or spiritually-inclined material.
* Publisher's note: This is one of the biggest and best drum circles in
our area. It only happens four times each year (at the changes of sea-
son - the solstices and equinoxes), bringing together drummers and danc-
ers from four counties for one big unified celebration. Don't miss it!
You don't have to be a good dancer or drummer - everyone is lovingly
welcomed and appreciated. You can drum (or play any percussion gadget
that you have), dance, or just watch and socialize.

WELLNESS WEBSITE NEEDS QUOTES FROM DRUMMERS
I am building a wellness website...trance dance is included. Naturally
drumming has a huge part in it. I am looking for a few drummers to share
their drum journeys in a couple of lines that will be quoted. What if
feels like to drum, the connective or spiritual experiences in lifting
consciousness through resonance, about dancers and rhythm, etc...
Thanks

TAKING ORDERS FOR BRINGING BACK DRUMS FROM AFRICA
Since I've gotten so many requests to bring drums back from Africa, I'm
taking instrument orders again. The catch is although Moussa and I will
have the instruments hand made under his (and my) watchful eye, I will
still have to have them shipped back to the U.S.
The whole process including collecting your deposit and actually making
the instruments available to you will take about 4-5 weeks. Deposits of
2/3 the cost of your order need to be paid before April 28th.
We will be building professional quality instruments in Senegal (Sabar,
Kutiro and Djembe) and Guinea (Djembe, Djun Djun, etc.). If you want
fabric, clothing, or drum accessories, you will need to pay in full before
we leave.
(Advance order) prices:
Hand-made djembe's - $200-$250 (a name can be engraved on your drum)
Djun djun's - $500 for a set of three
Sabar - $250 a piece (regardless of size) and $1,000 per set of five
Kutiro - TBA
Professional Guinean Balafons - $250-$350
I can also get gongomas, bolongs, etc.
Please note that we may possibly purchase extra instruments to sell
when we return. The prices, however, will be higher.
