Dear Drummers and Dancers,

My deepest apology for 'disappearing' for most of December.  I'm sorry that I wasn't
able to send you our regular monthly Drum Circle Newsletter or any special announce-
ments (like this one).  Early in December, my main computer crashed.  I thought that
I'd fixed it, and was able to send out the Full Moon Drum Circle Edition, and then the
problem got much worse (total computer meltdown of my main computer and my back-
up computer!).  I've been without e-mail or internet access almost all month!  The final
steps of the repair process just got finished this morning, so please excuse the extreme
lateness of the following special announcement.  Until just now I had no way to send it.
And once I wade through the 1400+ e-mails that have accumulated, I'll start sending out
the SE Florida Drum Circle Newsletter again.  Thank you for your understanding.

Michael

PLEASE NOTE:
There are some significant changes to our past invitations:

1. We're
starting at 7pm (not 8pm).

2. We're having a DJ'd partner dance from 7-9pm
During those hours, for those not wanting to dance, there will also be a potluck dinner,
musical performances, socializing, readings, etc.  For the dance: no partner is needed
(we'll be switching around).  Bring comfortable dancing shoes (sandals and open-back
shoes are not recommended - your feet can slip out and you'll hurt yourself).

3. We're asking everyone for a $5 contribution to cover expenses.
Party supplies, food & beverages, candles, decorations for home & yard, yard lighting
for parking areas coming soon, privacy fence across the back of the yard coming soon...

4. For New Year's Eve, we're adding some special attractions:
    a. A conscious ceremony to welcome in the new year - around midnight
    b. Fire-performers - throughout the drum circle time
    c. Fireworks - at midnight
    d. Ed Carrasquillo & Laura Johnson in a live musical performance of songs from
their new CD (Journey of the Spirit), after the midnight New Year's celebration
    e. A beautifully enhanced setting - with thousands of new lights in the trees and
        additional tiki-torches.

PremShakti & Michael Dean Goodman warmly invite you
to
join us for the famous monthly gathering of our
'conscious tribe' - over 150 folks dedicated to personal
growth, love, consciousness, radiance, freedom, & bliss

TONIGHT - WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 31ST, 7PM-1AM

3RD ANNUAL NEW YEAR'S EVE PARTY
Bonfire Drum Circle / Party / Dance / Potluck

held at our home in West Palm Beach (directions below)

This event is almost always held on the last Saturday of every month - mark your
calendar! - EXCEPT in December when it shifts a few days to NEW YEAR'S EVE.

For New Year's Eve: if you want to sleep over, rather than drive home late at night,
please bring a sleeping bag (for the yoga room floor) or tent (for outside).  We'll
have New Year's breakfast together the next morning!

4 Great Events Rolled Into One!

(1) BONFIRE TRIBAL DRUMMING & DANCING CIRCLE

Outside - around the fire circle
  • 9:00-9:15pm: Mini-drum lesson
  • 9:15pm-midnight: Community drum circle
(Out of respect for our neighbors we stop the outside noise at midnight -
    except New Year's Eve)

DRUM JAM: GREAT LIVE RHYTHMS - African, Latin, Middle-Eastern, Native
   American, World, Tribal...
RADIANT DANCERS - bellydancers, free-form dancers, contact dancers, trance-
dancers, etc. Enjoy a loving, appreciative atmosphere in which to let the rhythms
   move you!
PERFORMERS - fire-spinners, poi-twirlers, fire-breathers - all are welcome!
CELESTIAL CIRCLE - 4000 lights twinkling in the trees - a circle-of-light around us
BRING - Something to sit on for the drum circle (beach chair, stool, blanket, etc.)
IN CASE OF RAIN - the drumming is moved indoors!

(2) HOUSE PARTY & POTLUCK FEAST

Inside the house:
7pm-1am (all night!)

POTLUCK FEAST - bring something to share (main dish, dessert, beverage) if
   you want to partake
GREAT CONVERSATION - networking/satsang with conscious people
SING-ALONG at the piano - oldies, folk, Broadway, rock, spiritual, pop, etc.
MUSICAL PERFORMANCES - bring your instrument and/or voice and entertain
PERSONAL READINGS - God/Goddess cards, tarot cards, etc. - readers welcome
MASSAGE & HEALING ENERGY EXCHANGES on our massage table

(3) PARTNER DANCING

7-9pm: In the yoga room

PARTNER DANCING - on our wood dance floor (Latin, ballroom, swing, disco, tango)
No partner is needed - we'll be switching around.
Bring comfortable dancing shoes (sandals & open-back shoes are not recommended -
your feet can slip out and you can hurt yourself).

GREAT DJ'd MUSIC (BOTH HOT & COOL) - music that won't let you stay seated
7PM MINI-LESSON to help you find your groove

(4) CELEBRATION & PERFORMANCES

Midnight-1am: In the yoga room
When the outdoor drum circle ends, the inside celebration begins!

MUSICAL PERFORMANCE BY ED CARRASQUILLO & LAURA JOHNSON
Songs from their new CD - Journey of the Spirit
Haunting Native American flute (Ed) and percussion (Laura) - plus guitars
and the natural sounds of Mother Earth.  A musical journey to help body/mind/
spirit quiet and center and expand.  CDs available for sale.
BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION - for anyone whose birthday falls near our party
MUSIC & DANCE JAM
PERSONAL CONNECTION - some people say that the intimate, loving, spiritual
atmosphere of these late-night celebrations is their favorite part of the evening!

DRESS
Everything from casual to dress-up to fantasy is appropriate.  For example, some
women wear shorts, some wear dresses, some wear 'goddess-outfits', some wear
belly-dance or other costumes.  Dress in whatever makes you feel great & special.

HELD AT
The home of PremShakti & Michael Dean Goodman
4855 Belvedere Rd., Haverhill (West Palm Beach) FL 33415

Just west of the Palm Beach Airport, 2 blocks west of Military Tr.,
on the NE corner of Belvedere Rd. & Park Ln.

DIRECTIONS
1. From I-95, exit at Belvedere Rd.
2. At the end of the exit ramp, turn left onto Belvedere Rd. westbound
3. Pass the airport on the left, round the big 'S' curve
4. Pass Military Trail (stoplight, 7-11, Walgreens, KFC)
5. At the 2nd street past Military Tr. (Park Ln.) turn right - 1 block before Haverhill
6. Our house is on the NE corner of Belvedere Rd. & Park Ln. ('4855' on the mailbox).

1. From the Florida Turnpike northbound, exit at Southern Blvd.
2. At the end of the exit ramp, turn left onto Southern Blvd. eastbound
3. Go about 2 miles and exit at Military Tr.
4. Turn left/north on Military Tr. and go 1 mile
5. Turn left/west onto Belvedere Rd. (stoplight, 7-11, Walgreens, KFC)
6. At the 2nd street past Military Tr. (Park Ln.) turn right - 1 block before Haverhill
7. Our house is on the NE corner of Belvedere Rd. & Park Ln. ('4855' on the mailbox).

1. From the Florida Turnpike southbound, exit at Okeechobee Blvd.
2. At the end of the exit ramp, turn left onto Okeechobee Blvd. eastbound
3. Go about 2 miles and turn right/south on Military Tr.
4. Go 1 mile and turn right/west onto Belvedere Rd. (stoplight, 7-11, Walgreens, KFC)
5. At the 2nd street past Military Tr. (Park Ln.) turn right - 1 block before Haverhill
6. Our house is on the NE corner of Belvedere Rd. & Park Ln. ('4855' on the mailbox).

PARKING
1. The 1st 30 cars to arrive should park in our front & back yards (on the grass).
If you know you're staying late, please pull forward & let someone park behind you.
Please do not park on our paved driveway - leave that free for people to get on
and off the grass (parking spaces).
2. After our yard is full, please park only on the east (right) side of Park Ln. - NOT
blocking anyone's driveway (look carefully).  First, drop off heavy objects (drums,
food, etc.) in our driveway and then park down the street.
3. Once cars are parked a full block down Park Ln., we suggest that you park on the
next street to the east of us - Concord Ave.  Park on the (left) west side of Con-
cord, on the grassy shoulder next to the street.  You'll have a shorter walk than if
you'd parked far down our street (Park Ln.), and your car will be safer (closer to a
    busy street, better lit).
4. Of course, when parking anywhere, be smart - don't leave valuables sitting in plain
    view - hide them.

5. Please don't pull into any neighbors' driveways or yards to turn around, espe-
cially late at night when leaving.  The activity, and bright lights, disturb and frighten
them, and they complain to the City.  To exit our neighborhood, don't turn around
on Park Ln. - it's dark, narrow, and has deep drainage ditches along both side; just
continue north on Park Ln.  Two blocks down there's a street going left (west) to
Haverhill Rd. (a main north/south road).
