3. FULL MOON DRUM CIRCLES TONIGHT - WEDNESDAY!
Come on out tonight (full moon) and drum and dance together on the beaches.
Enjoy the confluence of all the elements - the beach underfoot (earth/smell),
the lapping waves (water/taste), the beautiful full moon above (fire/sight),
the sea breezes (air/touch), plus the beautiful sounds of drummers listening
to each other and to the dancers and jamming together (space/sound).
Come celebrate and enjoy the bliss! [There are also a couple of non-beach

FULL MOON DRUM CIRCLE - MIAMI BEACH
Monthly on the night of the full moon, on the beach in 2 different lo-
cations, each just east of Collins Ave. (A1A), on the beach, Miami Beach FL
1) 85th St., 9:30pm-very late
2) 22nd St., 8:30pm-midnight, be sure to feed the parking meters
These are free, and loosely organized. 85th St. on the full moon night was
the unfied location for a while, but it was dispersed a couple of times by
the police due to rowdiness (alcohol/drug use?), so some drummers broke away
and started drumming on the full moon eve (the night before), and they even
tried a couple of different (less notorious) locations at 75th St. or 22nd
St. instead. Now, on both the full moon night and the full moon eve, you
may find drimmers/dancers at any or all of these three locations. The situ-
ation is in flux.
Info: Mark Richards <bloodthump@...> tries to keep the info together.
FULL OF MOON - A CELEBRATION OF LIGHT - RALEIGHT HOTEL in SOUTH BEACH
Monthly - usually on the night of the full moon, behind the Raleigh Hotel
(just off the beach, at the Oasis Fire Circle), 1775 Collins Ave., South
Beach, Miami Beach FL
9pm till 1-2am
Free.
Creating an oasis from normal Miami Beach glitzy, material life - a gather-
ing of love, connection, spiritual depth. Featuring sacred fire dancer
Amber Joy Rava (http://www.roundaboutsparkle.net) who performs 4-5 times
throughout the night; she is excellent - very sensual, dramatic, deep!
Also includes tribal enchantment; mystic Indian sitar illuminations by Jus-
tin Howel Moore; and live drumming to create a sacred space, and to accom-
pany Amber and any other dancers who want to express themselves, led by
Grammy-nominated professional drummer Michael Moses. You are welcome to
bring your drum, but this is not a traditional community drum circle.
(Drummers: consider bringing your own seating - the low benches around the
fire circle are too low for djembe's and other larger drums.)
The hotel wait staff is available to take food and drink orders (you're at
a beautiful ocean-front hotel in South Beach, so prices are not inexpen-
sive - but there's NO pressure to order anything).
This event has been held since 2004.
Info: events@...
Parking: hotel valet parking is $25/vehicle plus tip! Or park on the street
(meters are $1/hr. with a 4-hour maximum purchase). Or park at either of
two big lots about 3 blocks away, near the corner of 17th St. and Washing-
ton, right by the Convention Center (one open-air lot, one indoor parking
garage); each is between $5 and $10.
Directions:
1. Take I-95
2. Exit #4 onto I-195 eastbound (FL112) toward Miami Beach
3. Go 4.7 miles (includes crossing the Intercoastal), till I-195 ends
4. Then bear left onto Arthur Godfrey Rd. (West 41st St.)
5. Go 1/2 mile, then turn right onto Pine Tree Dr.
6. Go 1 mile, as Pine Tree Dr. ends at Dade Blvd. bear left onto 23rd St.
7. Go 1 long block (2 streets) and turn right onto Collins Ave. (A1A)
8. Go 0.3 miles (pass 5 streets) to the Raleigh Hotel on your left (1775
Collins Ave.)
9. For parking lots, pass the hotel, turn right at the next street (Hank
Meyer Blvd./17th St.), go 2 streets to Washington Ave.
4. DAY AFTER THE FULL MOON - THURSDAY AUGUST 10TH
DAY AFTER FULL MOON DRUM CIRCLE - INNER WISDOM, DEERFIELD BEACH
Inner Wisdom, 39 S. Federal Hwy. (just south of Hillsboro on the west
side), Deerfield Beach FL
Facilitated by Margaret Ann Lembo of The Crystal Garden. Bring a drum
or even an extra if you have them; or use those supplied by the store.
"Experience sitting in circle in a sacred way. Using sacred smudge blend
to call in the directions, we will clear away negative energy and thought
forms. Drum away what ails and annoys you. Drum in love, light, and
well-being to replace it all! To complete the evening, you will have an
opportunity to experience a meditative journey into yourself, sometimes
known as shamanic journeying. During the journey, you will be guided
into a deep state of consciousness to have an encounter with a guide,
power animal, or to find an answer to your questions. Special note: The
room does get smoky from the smudge blend at the beginning."
