Purpose: to teach unity and fellowship; to understand primitive instruments
and their cultures; to entertain, educate, and unify the many drum circle
communities in the SE U.S. Held twice a year - April and September.
Featuring: Tam Tam Congo ensemble from the Congo; KamukaRimba from Gaines-
ville FL (traditional Shona Mbira and Marimba music from Zimbabwe with
touches of Afro-Cuban folkloric rhythm base; Didg Revolution & Dragonfly
Rhythms, Russell Buddy Helm, Jana Broder, Jerrods Door
Workshops: Yoga, African Dance, African rhythm, African folk tales, did-
geridoo (novice and advanced), fire dance rhythms, healing drum therapy.

Fall Equinox Drum/Dance Circle (around a huge bonfire!)
Hugh Taylor Birch State Park, 3109 E. Sunrise Blvd., Ft. Lauderdale FL
8pm till 1am, $4 entrance fee goes toward the event (hiring the required
park rangers for the night) and to the park's support fund. If you can't
afford that, give what you can.
This is one of the biggest and best drum circles in our area. It only
happens four times each year (at the changes of season - the solstices
and equi- noxes), bringing together drummers and dancers from four coun-
ties for one big unified celebration. Don't miss it! You don't have to
be a good dancer or drummer - everyone is lovingly welcome and appreciated.
You can drum (or play any percussion gadget that you have), dance, or just
watch and socialize.
Includes: a roaring bonfire; a big (optional) potluck feast - bring uten-
sils, plates, etc.; an Earth-centered ritual to welcome in the season (at
about 10pm); performers are welcome (fire-dancers, belly dancers, etc.)

Circle starts at 7pm; ceremony begins promptly at 7:30pm (please arrive
before this). Free (but donations welcome)
Facilitated by Linda White and Robin Standlee. A sacred event of renewal,
from the Native American tradition, where you can experience a reconnec-
tion to your body and Spirit through drumming and chanting. Drums and
rattles are provided for those who can't bring their own.

2. Exit Indiantown Rd. west (SR 706)
3. Go west about 5.5 miles west; the 4-lane road narrows to 2 lanes

5. Turn right (north) at the 2nd street (137th Trail North)
6. Go about 1 mile north till 137th Trail ends, and turn left (onto
188th Pl.?)
7. After about 300 ft. (1/2 city block) you'll see a sign on the right
"Four Medicine Retreat Center" (it's also the 2nd house on the right),
and the address says "13955", turn into the driveway
8. Park in front of this large log house; follow the lantern-lighted
walking path.
