By Gayle Coursol, Director
1. The Grateful Garden is ready to start accepting memberships;
those who sign up now will be Founding Members with special
privileges and savings.
2. Help is needed - volunteer your knowledge/skills/labor:
Attorneys, accountants, on-line store designers, publicists,
cleaners, gardeners, contractors, educators...please step up.
3. An incredible opportunity has arisen where we can purchase
this beautiful property, rather than rent - much earlier than
we had planned, and for a price well under market value. We
need serious investors who share the vision of The Grateful
Garden and who would like to reap a significant profit on
their investment.

9:00-10:00pm THE SIX DIRECTIONS & THEIR ELEMENTS - PERFORMANCES & KNOWLEDGE

1. Ancient Tantra - Mastery of the 3 Dimensions (6 directions)

3. Bringing the Inipi Ceremony to Our Community
By Chief Charles Chipps, full-blooded Lakota human, 7th gene-
ration spiritual interpreter of reality, doctor in the natu-
ral history of herbal medicine. He works with the elements
of nature and with the gifts from the Great Mystery. He tra-
vels the world, teaching the ancient ways, performing ceremo-
nies, and introducing his brothers and sisters to all their
relations. He says: "We are at the end of a new beginning.
Hear me, for the ancient knowledge of the indigenous Earth
people is needed now as it has never been needed. Native
American spirituality is not cultural, traditional, pertain-
ing to the government, or against anything that is living.
These ceremonies will cure illness and extend our lifetime,
however old we are." He will hold several Inipi (purifica-
tion rituals) at The Grateful Garden (in our newly-built
sweat lodge) over the next few weeks (sign up at the entrance
table), and has brought 30 grandfather tunkashila (stones)
for the lodge.

circles are great opportunities to connect, to let loose, and
to feel the ecstatic energy of life flowing through you.

*** FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 22ND (RAIN DATE: FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 29TH) ***

Autumn Equinox Tequesta Drum Circle (around a huge bonfire!)

Hugh Taylor Birch State Park, 3109 E. Sunrise Blvd., Ft. Lauderdale FL
7pm till midnight

* $5 entrance fee goes toward event costs (insurance, hiring the required park
rangers for the night, etc.) - any money remaining will be donated to the
citizen support organization Friends of Birch State Park, Inc.

* "People of all life-affirming spiritual and philosophical paths are invited
to come together under the beautiful canopy of the sky, in a preserved 'native
Florida coastal habitat' It's an opportunity to align our thoughts and
energies with our own core of being, with the seasonal shifts on our planet
(Earth), with the energy effects of our star (the Sun), and with the powers of
the universe that form all things (which you may call God/Goddess, Spirit,
Nature, laws of evolution, etc.). The Tequesta (tuh-kes-tuh) Drum Circle is
named after one of the ancient tribes who inhabited lands around SE Florida
prior to European and Seminole arrival - and gives us an opportunity to
remember that legacy. Ceremonial dress is welcomed, but not required."

* Includes: a roaring bonfire; a big (optional) potluck feast - bring a dish
or drink that would be enough for yourself; an Earth-centered ritual to
welcome in the season (at about 10:30pm) along with a collective altar where
you may place objects to be charged through the intentions of the evening.
Performers are very welcome (fire-dancers, belly dancers, etc.).

* Editor's note: This is one of the biggest and best drum circles in our area.
It only happens four times each year (at the changes of season - the
solstices and equinoxes), bringing together drummers and dancers from four
counties for one big unified celebration. Don't miss it! You don't have to
be a good dancer or drummer - everyone is lovingly welcome and appreciated.
You can drum (or play any percussion gadget that you have), dance, or just
watch and socialize.

* Info: Moon Path Circle, Inc., http://moonpathcircle.org/index.htm,
SpelCastor <spelcastor@...>, Sophia
<sophialinus@...>, Mark 954-655-7182

* Directions:
1. Go east on Sunrise
2. Cross the Intercoastal bridge
3. Make the last left turn before A1A (turning into the park entrance)
4. Follow the circular drive about 2/3 of the way around to the "Primitive
