LESSON AND COMMUNITY DRUM CIRCLE - LED BY MICHAEL MOSES

"Rhythm is the carrier of life – get the beat!!! Feel the rhythm of life
and spirit! Join us on our first Fabulously Fun Friday for an experience
of community, spirit, and rhythmic excitement. It is a time to refresh,
recharge, and renew. You'll enjoy getting together with friends, even if
they are someone else's. We invite all the percussive geniuses and the
rhythmically challenged to attend. The voice and the power of rhythm are
humanity's oldest form of creative expression. Used for healing, for
ceremony, for party, and for prayer for thousands of years. There must be
something good going on here. We will spend an hour or so exploring the
heart and soul of rhythm and the drum, through instruction, pointers, and
cross cultural inspiration. We'll take a breath and bathe in a pool of
silence, before diving in to 90 minutes of Community Drum Circle. This time
is certainly appropriate for beginners as well as those with “nothing left
to learn” [that's a touch of humor]. So, dive in - bring your favorite
drum, your passion, and a stool (if you have one). Extra drums will be
available as well. And remember: It's not the impressive sound you make
when your hand hits the drum head, but rather - who you are when your hand
is in the air."

Led by: master percussionist Michael Moses, who can be heard on over a
dozen internationally released CDs, including the 2003, Grammy nominated
Red Moon. His credits include composing music for H.H. the Dalai Lama's
Nobel Peace Prize announcement in 1989. He has performed and taught with
the late Baba Olatunji for eight years, and was recently asked to lead a
trio of drummers for a private Trance Dance for Sting and his family. He
has accompanied master dance classes and culturally diverse dance compan-
ies from around the world. Michael is currently living and teaching in
South Florida, and continues to perform, record, and facilitate drum cir-
cles for beginners as well as aspiring and more seasoned practitioners.

9TH ANNUAL WITCHES BALL - AND - SAMHAIN SUN CELEBRATION CIRCLE

Witches Ball: 7:30-11:30pm, $15
Samhain Circle: 11:30pm onward, free

The public is invited to attend the Witches Ball and Samhain Circle
which will conform to, and celebrate, the Ancient Tradition. Coven mem-
bers, solitaries, the experienced, the seekers, and the curious are all
welcome. For both the Witches Ball and Samhain Circle, ritual garb and/
or costumes are encouraged. For the Witches Ball bring your favorite
beverage and snacks. Dance to DJd music that will be raucous and magickal,
or walk the outside lighted labyrinth, or bring lawn chairs to sit outside
under the stars. For the Samhain Circle, there will be drumming and a bon-
fire; bring your drums. You may also light candles for your departed loved
ones. Jewelry and food vendors as well as tarot/psychic readers will be
available for your pleasure. Donation of non-perishable food items and
clothing for the Cooperative Feeding Program of Broward County are welcome.

There are at least 5 drum circles every week - plus 3 that occur every
other week, plus 10 that are monthly, plus 9 every month around the full
moon, plus special events!
