Dear Drummers and Dancers,

Here's a new format for the Drum Circle Newsletter that we're trying
out. We'll send out three separate issues - one for Miami-Dade County,
one for Broward County, and one for Palm Beach (and Martin) Counties.
That way, you can delete the issues with drumming/dancing events too
far away from you, and focus in on events nearby. It means that your
local events don't get lost in a huge, long newsletter, and you don't
have to wade through all those events you're not interested in. Of
course, if there's a big drum circle that would be of interest to peo-
ple in multiple counties, we'll feature it in all three editions.

Please let me know what you think of this idea - if it's more con-
venient.

All are welcome. It is on the sidewalk, so bring your own seating.
There may be a couple of extra drums available.

Full Moon Drum Circle - Miami Beach

Monthly on the night of the full moon, on the beach, starts around 10pm
and continues till "very late", free

Held at: On the beach, at 85th St., just east of Collins Ave. (A1A),
Miami Beach FL

Remember, it can be chilly on the beach during the cooler months - dress
accordingly.

Every Sunday, 6-8pm

Held at: University of Miami (on the grass by the lake - down the stairs
by the permanent stage at the end of the Student Union Patio), Coral
Gables FL

Not officially sanctioned by the school, but nobody bothers the drummers when
they gather. Began August 2006. Free parking on Sundays.

Performance on sacred tambour. A Soul's Vibration presentation. In-
cluding Delou African Dance Ensemble.
Tickets $36 per person at the door; for groups of 4+ $20 per person.

A dinner buffet will follow the show at Golden Glades Inn, 16500 NW
2nd Ave.

Kazak International is the follow-through of Haitian artist Jan
Sebon’s musical expression, spanning his entire life, from Haitian
political activist, poet, visual artist and drummer to political
refugee, poet, mixed media artist and musician in the USA. It is
part of his dream to bring talent and drive from people from all
over the world with a common vision to effect change through their
art, with music as the medium. Having been at the conceptual heart
of the first incarnation of Kazak in the mid 1980’s, he continues
that movement forward in the 21st century with the current line-up
of Kazak International today. With musicians from Haiti, Brazil and
America and musical influences from Africa, the Caribbean, India,
Europe and the Americas, the music of Kazak International creates a
new and driving sound that can finds harmony with the beat of every
heart. The music of Kazak International is a unique and original
mix, with heavy influences from Haitian and Brazilian jazz, African
drum pulse, Reggae and American Funk. Every show brings not only the
great sounds of the music – inspiring both dance and thoughtful lis-
tening, but also a powerful message – both literal and emotional, of
conscious and peaceful coexistence.

There are at least 5 drum circles every week - plus 3 that occur every
other week, plus 10 that are monthly, plus 9 every month around the full
moon, plus special events!
