I just copied this from their mp3 information page:
"The MP3 audio files are very high quality, about 200kbps VBR, encoded
using the "LAME" MP3 encoder on its audiophile settings. Your MP3s
will play on any hardware."
I guess if you want lossless, you'll have to go with itunes.
