Re: [Stickerville] shower trailer at stickerville

Hi,
The shower trailer cannot go where it used to be. We would have to have it moved out near where the port-a-potties go...down that 'lane' where the sewer and water is located. Then we would have to run power (from our shed) out to it. It is set up for propane water heating.
More info soon,
Thanks for all and any input!

Hi, I take it we can not put it where it has been the last few years and let someone else manage it? Girl Scouts,Cheer Leaders, BoyScouts, FFA or such. Perhaps we could make off season care part of the deal. I don't like the casual solar shower idea, people are too loose and careless it would be a mess. There are too many of us. Last year there was a woman who was washing her babys butt right at the hose bib. We are just a virus away from some serious health dept. regulation as it is. Portable showers rent for over a 1000 a day so its worth considering. TonyG

Howdy all –

Johnny here, passing on some news from Becky: Vicki recently contacted her to offer us the old shower trailer building. She is asking $2000.

Without of course making any commitment, Becky plans to go check it out, take some pictures (which I will post), and generally give due diligence to the offer.

She is extremely interested in feedback from the wider WFOF/Stickerville community. We’ve had a fair amount of controversy and discussion about shower buildings over the last couple of years. I don’t think Becky is necessarily looking to rehash all of that, but she is looking both for comments and thoughts about buying the trailer (perhaps as an interim solution), as well as specific ideas about the shower situation that *don’t* have us buying the trailer.

My own thoughts:

Even though I personally didn’t mind the old trailer, there could be some relatively substantial costs to get it up and running, and keep it maintained, including:

* cost of propane and electricity

* cost to hook it up to sewer

* cost to maintain and secure it while we aren’t there

* the hassle of staffing during the festival week, etc

There are a lot of Weiser people who are not currently on Yahoo Stickerville Group; If you think you know someone in that category, please forward this message and ask them to join so we will have to maintain only one list...

Johnny

I love the idea of a simple shower drainage platform, to which we would bring our own shower bags. Those who want real showers could always trek to the high...

No support for the old shower trailer from me. But I do like the idea of a simple platform with trench drain for individual solar showers. Perhaps we could...
