oh, about my ramones remark - i was obviously joking. i took offence at the
remark about "music lovers will mourn" or something.
i have respect for the group, or i did until i realised they had been around
for 20-something years and hadn't progressed at all. they might think it's
some sort of artistic statement - i think rolling stones.
but they still rock, etc.
i hope whoever it was that got their knickers in a twist has gotten over the
death of mr ramone (if this is really his real name).
i wonder what the new solex album will sound like - lissy is working on it
now. the two already released sound kind of different - i think the first is
more 'hey, i've got this new style - what can i do with it?' and the second
is more 'i've worked it out'. i'm not saying the second is better, etc, just
that it sounds more...uhmmm...worked out. she sounds more at ease and
comfortable with her style.
so i'm scratching my....head trying to work out what the third will be like.
all i have to go on is 'the cutter' and 'pastrami' or whatever it's called
which she played live. i didn't really like the cutter and i can hardly
remember pastrami, but i think it was a more experimental sound.
i personally would like to see lissy-bet in a school uniform a la britney
singing a cover of 'mickey' by toni basil. now THAT'S entertainment.
maybe we should all email her with this request just to see if she'll do it.
i'm trying to work out what solex would sound like if lissy continued with
this persona 10 years down the line. does anyone know of anyone who sounds
like this?
anyway, i'll quit my jabbering. it's just this list is usually so quiet and
i haven't written anything substantial in a while.
keep it real.
