Hope the rest of Solex's tour is as good as Chicago. Chicago loved her - I began to get it this time, the live performance aspect of Solex, better than on her previous tour. Elizabeth was totally frustrated with the sound, but it didn't matter. She was full of energy and smiles, caught in the magic of her music, not completely under her control, yet (or maybe therefore) fully engaging the audience. We demanded more and more and more.
I loved this new tour more than the new album, LowKick. She is even better live than recorded. What does it all mean? It means go hear Elizabeth live every chance you get!
I drove down from Milwaukee and it was totally worth it. That may not seem like a big deal to you, but I am 59, mostly listen to classical music, go to bed at 10:30 (her set started around 12:30), never hang out in bars, hate cigarette smoke, have two teenagers who hate Solex, widowed, overworked and underpaid, etc.
"I smile because I have no idea what is going on."
...I smile because nothing else is as important.
Keep that dirty laundry coming.
