Greetings fellow music lovers,

David & I would like to let everyone know that a new song has
been added at www.soundclick.com/komatoast. It's called "a beautiful

We are still trying to get "the orange door" (lake park) to commit to
a date, he keeps askin' then disappears for days....who knows...

From Judah:
Greetings Beloved All ~ The attached information, expressed by our
beloved Ram. Compelled me to share it with all of you. For last 3
yrs, Ram has taken upon himself, The duties of maintaining our
wonderful "Drum-Circle. Org" website. We have talked up, about
helping with the $120. yearly fee. Seems talking is all we have
done. Would you believe, Ram has paid 90% of those fee's for 3yrs.
It hurts me to know that I'm one who has been part of "The Talk.
DC.Org, is rated as one of the top rated, DrumCircle Sites, on both
Google & Yahoo. The Stuart Drum Circle, has truly been blessed, from
being connected with this site. Many of us, use this site to
advertise our personal products. Let us all, come together & resolve
this very, very important issue of , "Principal!"! Our Divine Circle
of Friends, Let us now move forward>>>> Judah's Proposal & All of
You, Presenting yours, ....This Sundays DrumCircle,I'll address the
entire gathering with this issue. I will discuss the urgency of
maintaining the sight, financially by having a donation basket for
each & every DrumCircle, from this time moving forward! The money
raised, year round, can also be used for marketing ,DC,(i.e flyers,
business cards, poster signs to advertise around Martin & StLucie
Counties). This proposal can be used by all DrumCircle's.Would like
to present Ram with $300.,so bring your bank ! We have an
opportunity to make these gathering "Soar" in popularity in the
entire state of Florida. I receive numerous inquires from all over
Florida & many relocating or visiting our area. We made front page
of another local newspaper, last week. Last Sunday's gathering was
awesome. A few people, came up to me,seen the paper and didn't know
this was happening in their own backyard for 14yrs. I'm inviting you
all to attended Circle this Sunday, and PLEASE.....Get This Word Out
To Everyone, With Urgency! I will also have a special surprise for
all. OK ~ Enough of Judah, We All Await Reply's, Peace ~ Judah
Ram's Reply ~

Hi Judah
its true its a great website and it would be a shame to lose,(ive
put in more than 100 hours in developing & manning it) people from
all around the world are wanting to be listed each week! At this
moment we are rated # 1 by Yahoo and # 4 by AOL- Google world wide.
do a search for drum circles and see what comes up!

ALSO:
The Jazz in the Courtyard combo consisting of Michael Moses on
guitar & percussion, Steve on stand-up bass, Andy on drums and Gayle
(voice) is beyond phenomenol! See them, hear them, feel them 9 to
midnight, Saturdays at the Lake Worth Chocolate Company, Lake
Street, between K and L, on the south side of the street (the Gelato
place). They have turned the back end of the shop (and the
courtyard) into a sweet and quirky jazz bar (beer & wine served, as
well as coffee, tea, ice cream & chocolate and more)

Howdy,

wanted to let y'all know of another community music site that just got
started to bring together musicians from PSL to Palm Beach:

http://community-2.webtv.net/MusicLoop/TreasureCoast/page2.html

it's brand new but looks like a good place to advertise shows and get
to know other musicians and learn more about the scene to the south of
us... Will organized a picnic that went down last Sunday and they had
50 people show up. I didn't make it as I was out of town but it sounds
like it was fun so next time people should definitely check it out.

peace and love,

amanda

Thanks for the info. And thanks go out to Mike and Cody for helping out in the planting. New slogan for our band: "JoMiCo cares". Just kidding. J&S is definitely an interesting spot. It's pretty far from anything and there's a biker, lawless vibe to it. And yes, the PSL stories are all true. If you haven't checked out Ben Prestage yet, YOU HAVE TO, ok? The guy is amazing. I'm out.

Great show last night!!!
you guys really have something special.
you have got to get a cd together - i crave
your music in between getting to hear you live!

there is an extensive music network in south florida -
mainly in broward and dade counties - and they
have a list which i recently subscribed to, at
www.gotfolk.com. check it out. if you sign up, you get several
e-mails a day informing you of happenings on the music
scene south of us... a lot of it is ads for folk concerts, but
there are also often postings about times and places of various
open mics as well as songwriter contests, both of which can lead
to expanding opportunities. just go to the website and it'll walk
you through how to subscribe. below is a posting that came this
week.. i haven't checked any of the links out yet but some of it
looks pretty interesting and i thought some of y'all might be
interested. if you want to submit material to one of the places
listed, you might want to do some research first just to make sure
you aren't unknowingly giving up rights to your music. if you
haven't copyrighted your songs through the federal copyright office,
you can simply burn a copy of your recordings, write or type out the
lyrics, and mail the cd and lyrics to yourself. when you receive it,
DON'T OPEN IT!! just put it in a safe place. this way, you have
proof that you had written and performed the songs at a certain date,
with an offical date-stamp on the postage. this is called the "poor
man's copyright," cuz if you do it the offical way it costs $30 per
song (and it can take 9 months to get processed.) anyhow, check out
the following. there are some links to radio stations that play
independent, unsigend artists, and websites that will review and sell
your cd's and merchandise, etc....
warmly,
amanda

This weekend was one of the best ever in my whole life so far. I
feel SO BLESSED to know some of the most WONDERFUL people in the
world, that is, people in the TCMusic community... Jose, Mike, Tim,
and Joe came out to support me at my gig on Sat. at Osceola and it
meant so much to me. Then, Sunday was an amazing day. As Jose said,
I went down to Miami where I was interviewed and performed on a Miami
public radio (NPR) folk and acoustic music show. I was pretty
nervous but I think it went alright for my first time... After I
started singing "Open Up YOur Eyes" I realized the lyrics
included "piss" and "shit"... ah, so much for the FCC... the show
host didn't say anything to me about it afterward, and I forgot to
ask... Then I opened for Sloan at a Glades Edge House Concert in Fort
Lauderdale that evening, which was a blast. The man who runs the
concert series holds monthly concerts in his home, and he brings in
folk musicians from all over the country. I am starting to learn
about the folk scene... for one thing, the musicians seem to be very
approachable... I got hooked up with this whole thing just by meeting
a guy who is not a musician but has gone to lots of folk festivals
and hung out with the musicians. Sloan was so warm and kind to me
and to everyone at the concert... people asked questions in between
songs, and she told lots of stories. I opened up with 3 songs, then
she performed (which was totally amazing - her lyrics are so poetic
and full of wisdom, they made me cry repeatedly), then there was an
intermission, then I played 2 more songs and then she did the rest of
her show. At the end, for the last number, she called me up to the
stage along with a flutist who was present, and we harmonized
together on Dylan's "I Shall Be Released". It all felt like a
dream. Many people asked me thorughout the day about the music scene
in Stuart, and I sang its praises... I am so thankful for Osceola
Street Cafe and John Lang for the wonderful place and space and
opportunity for us all to come together and grow together in the love
of music, and for all of you beautiful souls I have met there and
have had the good fortune to get to know better and spend time with.

And now I am THRILLED to hear about JoMiCo's upcoming gig!!! YOu
guys are so talented, you have all captivated me in your many
combinations over the past year or so and the thought of getting to
hear you for a few hours at once fills me with joy.

Peace and love,
Amanda

Hi everybody,
I hope all is well. I did a little Spring cleaning and got rid of old
messages. I'm hoping to expand this mailing list beyond the 'inner
circle' in the next couple of months. Keep this in mind when posting
messages. It's good to have a lot of people show up at certain events;
other activities are best enjoyed with a few select friends. Use your
judgement ;)
On to the next thing,
AMANDA BIRDSALL injected a dose of life to the dinner crown at Osceola
Street Cafe last Saturday. It was a thing of beauty when the cafe staff
had to go get a bigger bucket for her tips! Good job, girl. On Sunday
she made an appearance on a Miami radio station. She played Open Up
Your Eyes ("bullshit they sell you" line remained intact) and Lonesome
Kitchen Blues. Later on Sunday, she opened up for Sloan Wainwright.
Busy weekend. Let us know how it went. Oh yeah, I added Amanda's
website to our links page.
WELCOME. I'd like to welcome Patti Bramson to the group. Patti is a
performer from New Jersey that will soon make the Treasure Coast her
home. We caught her set at the Boardwalk Open Mic on Thursday night
(hosted by Chaz Foster). 'Drummaster' Mike even sat in on a couple of
songs. It was a very enjoyable set. This lady has some fingerpicking
skills! Check out her website on our links page.
STARBUCKS. A new Starbucks opened up on US 1 and Monterey. Local dudes
Dave (Goldenspike) and Jason (Komatoast) played there Thursday evening.
There may be an Open Mic at this location soon.
NEW OPEN MIC. I may have mentioned this here before, but there's an
Open Mic down in Jupiter, on Wednesday nights. The place is called
Latitude 27. It's hosted by Gary Frost.
WE HAVE A NAME. The musical collective known at different times as Cody
and Mike, Jose and Mike, Cody, Jose and Mike, Jose, Cody and Mike, just
Jose, just Cody, just Mike, Cody and Co., Jose and Co., Cody and
Friends, Jose and his Band of Gypsies (once at Joseph's), Ambrosia (heh
heh, ask us about that one), Afrodisiacs, Speedo Grease and the Crazy
Belts...will now be called JoMiCo. T-shirts will be available soon. We
may have our first paying live gig this weekend. If we do, come out and
show us some love. Stay tuned for details.
Much love and respect,
Jose
