Attention TJMC students and parents -

Please read the message below from Ms. Ulrey regarding the Band Boosters'
efforts to acquire new uniforms for our marching band. Also, attached are
two pictures of the uniform designs that have been created for us. Everyone
is encouraged to voice his opinion about these designs. If you have any
suggestions as to which design we should choose, how either design should be
altered, etc., please email me at kristin_spelling@... by Thursday,
April 21st. Opinion forms will also be available in class during the next
few days for students to fill out. Your opinions will be conveyed at the
next uniform design meeting with the Boosters.

Hi to all:

We are sending this to all students and parents through the TJMC list in
hopes of generating some feedback on the attached art work for possible new
uniforms. We have met with a representative from the DeMoulin uniform
company, who talked with some of us about a month ago, and brought sample
uniforms for us to look at. He also gave us catalogs which are in the band
office -- you are all welcome to look at them.

First, this is a very preliminary step that we are taking. Second, our
present uniforms are nearing the end of their practical lifespan.

The current TJMC uniforms were purchased in 1996, and are expected to last
9-10 years. In working with the band booster executive committee and
booster board (as well as members of the band council), we have begun
discussions about what we might want to next set of uniforms to look like.

My feeling is that our current uniforms are a great design -- the group
looks tall, thin, and very organized on the field. we would like to try and
maintain that "look" while going to the "second generation" of a similar
design -- hence, the artwork attachments.

We will be discussing these in classes on Thursday and Friday. You may
submit your feedback on the forms which will be available in class, or
simply email your feelings and suggestions to Kristin Hawkins, who will be
sending you a separate email on this same subject.

We are not certain if we will be able to purchase uniforms for 05 or maybe
not til '06, but now is the time for input.
