I have a Fender Telcaster Thinline, '69 re-issue.

I love the tone, look and feel, but I can only use it at low volumes
as it feeds back microphonically. I have tested it by removing the
strings and plugging it in and it still feeds back. I can sing into
the pickups and hear it through my amp.

The question is, do all Tele's do this? My Les Pauls don't. With my
Les Paul, I can crank the gain and volume way up and get very
controlable body feedback, but no microphonic feedback.

I am wondering if replacing the pickups with American Standard or
American Deluxe Telecaster pickups would relieve the problem. Has
anyone had experience with replacing pickups and rewiring a
Telecaster.

Thanks in advance
Randy

Randy, in my experience, it can be the age of the pickups. So replacing them would work if this is the issue. Smiles, Cara ... View my online portfolio at: ...
