Since the noise is occuring with different pick-ups ALONE I am
lead to believe that the installation was "botched " in some way.
(I wish Barry Pierce was here!!)
Take it to a guitar shop with a good rep........this needs someone
to re-trace the wiring etc.

PS that "reversing the wiring may help 'cause it changes the
polarity ....but it's better to actually "know" what the problem is
first......It doesn't sound like you are electronicaly "savvy" enough
to diaganose this on your own (if I'm wrong about that ,I apologize
in advance..just trying to help )...don't take chances guessing.And
you don't want the repairman to "inherit" any more of a snarled mess
than neccessary.
