I just looked through some old things of mine, searching for an
old creative writing disk from high school, when i came across a
flyer
that i had saved from a concert at the only coffeehouse i know of in
my small town Nebraska. When I was in college, my husband-to-be and
my brother and i went to see a concert of David's. My husband was a
little wary...folk music wasn't his thing...but my brother and I drug
him to it. He loved it! My brother and I did too, of course. it
had
been a long time since I had heard such genuine music..a lot of it
anymore is so commercial, but David LaMotte's music reaches out to
the
soul and really makes you remember that there are good things left in
the world. I see from the website that his popularity has grown, so
the chances of David's coming back to Hastings, Nebraska are small.
My brother still asks me every time he comes to visit if I knew
whether "That One Guy" had scheduled another concert. Well, here's
to
hope!
