Hello all,
I am more of a lurker, but I thought Jen had some good ideas. I surfed the web a bit this afternoon and noticed that one folk singer is thinking about having teams in different cities with team captains. The ideas were to see that local folks were displaying the music, that radio stations were playing it, that advanced publicity was in place, that kind of thing. I thought the team captain idea went a bit far for a dedicated pacifist, but I can imagine a structure such as this- maybe as "Lamottely Crew Eagles" (Flying not Dying!.) Look-outs appeal to- I am sure because of longing for mountains. I like the idea for these reasons:
a. I don't know a soul in Kansas who is acquainted with David (at least East Kansas) and thus talking about a recent concert I attended was a bit one-sided. It would be exciting to meet some kindred spirits on advance teams.
b. Sometimes when I listen to David's songs I get fired up "to do" something and although in the mental health center I work I can "do" some things- it is not a buzzing campus. This way I could contribute in a more global calling - although I also believe I am doing that in striving to become a more aware, conscious being.
c. It is systematic.
d. I live in a college town and have seen some local people get some really nice publicity from the local churches, the Borders in town as well as the coffee houses.
As it gets closer to the time to unveil the new website, I have some thoughts about that as well. (Ppl who know me know I have a thought on everything.) Like others have said, the colors are awesome. I was just wondering about a page for social activism? Carrie Newcomer (thank you very much by the way) has one and I really loved being able to track down some good sources.
I have copied a sample page about "street teamers" which would definitely have to be revised but could be a starting place.
I hope that everyone is enjoying Thanksgiving Day #4 and that no one is running out of gratitude.
I for one am grateful for each person on this list (which includes some family members I believe!) and for David's music which opens the mind and heart in one graceful eagle's swoop.
In the moment,
Jackie

Thanks for the good thoughts.
I've known Ellis Paul for years, and highly recommend his music for anyone who wants to check it out (www.ellispaul.com). I think he does a good job with Fan Out, too, though I hadn't thought to look at that. I went to his web site to take a look, but the link seems to be down. So I'd love to know how to find the folks who organize that. Thanks!
I'd also welcome any other thoughts on stuff people would like to see on the web site that isn't there now. Right now, while we're working on this major overhaul, is the perfect time to add things, so let me know, eh?
Hope y'all had a delightful Thanksgiving.
Peace,
David
