As always, David put on a great show at PC in Clinton. It was well worth
the flight up and I got to introduce several friends of mine to his music.
They were all blown away and will be watching for tour dates coming up.

I got to see him play "Lemonade" which it seemed I had always missed. Plus
several songs off of the new record. Except for a noisy ATM machine and a
smoothie/capaccino contraption that David tried to play along with, I
thought the show went very well. He told a powerful story behind the song
"Home By Now" that snapped every one around me into reality. Having my very
best friend whom I've known since I was 5 in a bluegrass band that tours
every single weekend, I know a little about life on the road from the
stories he tells and from my own experiences of touring with them. I know
about seeing someone go for 15 years with one weekend off a year (Xmas).
I'm getting married in June and I know what it feels like to ask someone
who's been your best friend your entire life to be at/in your wedding and
have them break down because they know they can't be there. There's only
one date this year that works for my family and her family and soon I'll
know what it's like to have your wedding with one of the most important
people in your life not there -- not because God has called them home, but
because some promoter has called him to play and his bandmates lean on him
to be there. The fact that David still is playing for us and writing for us
is a blessing and when I listened to him tell the story behind "Home By
Now", a lot of memories that I'd buried came rushing back to me. But that's
what makes David's music so wonderful -- it sounds sometimes like he wrote
every song he plays explicitly for you.

He's still the best - tell your friends and get them to a show so they can
see for themselves...
