Everyone -- If you're not on David's mailing list and haven't read
the website in the last few weeks, you'll want to check out his
latest Notes from the Road.
(Seriously, go read http://www.davidlamotte.com/nfr/nfr.html first,
not the rest of my message or it will make little sense!)
(Go! Really! http://www.davidlamotte.com/nfr/nfr.html )
To David -- I read "but the truth is that I am leaving something
known for something unknown, and it's a little scary" and it just
spoke to my heart. In May, I followed my heart and moved "back
home" to pursue a job I've always wanted, even though it isn't open
at the moment. I left my job, my friends, my house, my church,
everything I've thought for 5 years was my future. I'm not there
yet, and some days are better than others, but I know I've made the
right decision. I know your change is much bigger than mine in many
ways, but sometimes it's encouraging to hear someone else going
through something similar :)
Your music and your personality have been an inspiration to me for
many years, and your CD's will always find thier way to the top of
my stack-- always.
My congratulations and best wishes, but don't think I'm writing this
without a few tears! Now I'm off to map out all the concerts on
your tour page and see which ones I can make ;)
