Click here: Eleventh Biennial International Conference on Baroque Music
BAROQUE MUSIC
The Eleventh Conference will be hosted by the Royal Northern College of Music from Wednesday 14th July to Sunday 18th July 2004.
The Biennial Conference on Baroque Music, organised since the 1980s, has become one of the most important musicological meetings in the academic calendar. A large number of delegates from Europe, North America and Australasia attended the last conferences held at Exeter (1998), Dublin (2000) and La Rioja (2002).
We anticipate that the Eleventh conference in Manchester will offer a stimulating atmosphere, both culturally and academically, as did in the previous meetings.
The RNCM is the largest of the main music colleges in the United Kingdom. Dating from 1973, with further recent additions, it has spacious, up-to-date facilities. The College’s site includes the Sir Charles Groves Hall, providing accommodation for conference delegates beside the College main building.
A wide range of scholarly books will be exhibited by Rosemary Dooley.

The Face Of Bach
"Those in charge are odd and ambivalent towards music, which means I have to live with almost non-stop vexation, envy, and persecution."
Johann Sebastian Bach, October 28, 1730
