Why cannot be asked:-). There simply is no concept of this sort in
English. Indeed the concept of commemorating a great person's
deathdate as opposed to birthdate seems peculiar to some persons whom
I know. "Anniversary of the death" is obviously a circumlocution and a
very clumpsy one at that.
