The music that Buddy started more than a century ago is still there with us and can't be outplayed by the modern stuff.
Hot Jazz is a great big tree with many, many branches.
Its roots lay in New Orleans at the end of the XIX century, represented by Buddy Bolden and the other musicians of that time.
Its growth was not a matter of turning on a switch on a certain date by this or that bandleader that made the music "hot", but saw instead a very complex day-by-day evolution.
In that bunch of branches and leaves (the great Hot Jazz musicians) we find a little place of our own too.
Jazz nowadays is seen mainly as a form of music that was born, and therefore started, during the mid '40s.
Hundreds of so-called Jazz critics and historians and thousands of players consider all of what happened before just as "corny", "outdated", "mickey-mouse", "dusty", "too easy", "always the same boring stuff" kind of music.
The list's aim is instead to gather "the other side of the world of Jazz" and to enlarge the knowledge of the HOT Jazz.
Therefore this group is dedicated to all lovers of black, brown, beige and white Hot Jazz.
