Re: Prospects and proposals for ideas for a Long Island Concert for the Summer
Hey everyone,
It looks like we can get backing for media work on the August 26th
Concert, and it looks like it will end up being in the Vail-Leavitt
Music Hall in Riverhead, NY. I got estimates from other theatres,
including a much larger hall a little closer to New York City, (in a
town called Patchogue,) where they were booked for the summer and
would want about $4000-5000, depending on the day of the week. After
hearing that, $400-$500 sounds reasonable. (Granted their hall is
much bigger than the Vail-Leavitt.) But yeah, the Long Island
Environmental Voters Forum will help us out with media work, (and
probably paying for it, too...) I'll work on getting backing from the
League of Women's Voters, or at least getting their support on this,
not to mention the "Poets Against the War ensemble."
