Why: To bring awareness to the education epidemic manifested in Santa
Fe 40% drop out rate within the High Schools.

Locally grown musicians give back to their roots!

La Junta's front man, Nick Peña, spearheads a benefit concert to
support positively influential programs in his hometown of Santa Fe.
This concert will benefit the Music and Art programs at Santa Fe
High, Capital High, St. Michael's High, and F.A.C.T. Out of the
fifteen participating musicians, nine were born and raised in Santa
Fe and were nurtured by at least one of the programs to be
benefited. Supported by bands Crazy Fool, and Sapphire, as well as
solo artist Mr Tim Reynolds of TR3, we hope to bring awareness of the
40% drop out rate in the high schools in Santa Fe, and the
implications of the lack of emphasis on the arts within the high
schools.

We believe that creative expression and problem solving is a key
element in becoming successful within the academic world in a more
enjoyable and relative context to high school youth. Thus, the arts
are more then pretty sounds, pictures, and plays. Art is history,
culture, business, awareness, science, math, architecture, and pride.

Our hope is that our positive intentions, backed by our humble
following of fans, that the Sol of Santa Fe benefit concert on March
17th will be as successful as the programs that made an impact on our
lives and continue to be the cornerstone of so many others. Thank
