Teacherpalooza

On Saturday, October 18, 2003, Washington Mutual presented
Teacherpalooza, a free outdoor barbeque and music festival at Grant
Park celebrating the talent and commitment of Chicagoland teachers.

Over 50,000 teachers were invited. Students and families were welcome
too. In fact, all of
Chicagoland was invited. We hoped to make this the world's biggest
barbeque, serving food
from around the world. Your fellow teachers performed on three stages
and the day's
festivities culminated in a concert featuring TIM McGRAW & THE
DANCEHALL DOCTORS,
MICHELLE BRANCH, Los Hombres Calientes featuring Bill Summers & Irvin
Mayfield, and
American Idol finalist, Trenyce!

It was a free day of great barbeque, great music, the chance to win
major grants for Chicagoland schools and an opportunity to honor our
terrific teachers.
