Not sure if all of you saw this from Kasim's site...so, just in case you
have not, here is a note from Kasim.

Unsubscribe information is at the end of this email. Hi Everyone,

I realize that it’s been more than a while since my last message. I wanted to
wait until I had confirmation on a few things before I start talking to you
about them.
It’s official. I am now a Sanctuary Records Recording Artist. The immediate
plan is to re-release Quid Pro Quo sometime later this year with at least two
new songs on it with a brand new CD to follow in 2006.
Considering most of you already have QPQ, I’m discussing with Sanctuary how to
enable you to have whatever new material might appear on the re-release without
having to purchase the CD again. Sanctuary has mentioned slightly changing the
artwork as well but to me the most important thing is figuring out how best to
get you any additional tracks that will appear on this 3rd edition of QPQ. I’m
excited about this new relationship with Sanctuary and knowing how committed
they’ve been to the catalog of Todd and Utopia I’m sure they will afford me the
same effort.
I’d like to take this opportunity to extend my thanks and gratitude to Scott Van
Dusen and Sphere Sound Records. Scott gave me the initial push to put out my
first record in too many years. My respect for him transcends the business side
of our relationship. If not for his initial help and guidance I might still be
’threatening’ myself with putting together a solo record. Thanks Scott, and even
though I don’t wear a hat, I take my preverbal one off to you.

I’ve been spending a lot of time on Broadway with Movin’ Out and now that I’ve
expanded my duties from Rhythm Guitar to Bass (so far I’m the only musician
lucky enough to play two instruments on this show), I’m averaging 4 shows a week
on stage. The greatest thing about the show aside from playing is the backstage
hang and between song banter that goes on. Since most of the bands vocal mic’s
are turned off to the audience after each tune, it’s an opportunity to crack
jokes, make fun of each other and otherwise be as nutty as possible in hopes of
getting someone to screw up royally because they’re laughing too hard to play.
On a recent show, one of the Horn players (who shall remain nameless) caused the
rest of the band to nearly miss the intro to a song by umm, allowing nature to
reduce the internal pressure in his lower body directly into a microphone. As
usual, his timing was perfect. The ensuing laughter made it next to impossible
to continue with straight faces.
Currently the show is doing 87% capacity each night which means it’s not about
to close anytime soon.
A big plus for me was having Mark Alexander manning the ‘Synth’ chair recently.
It’s almost like having your best friend in the sixth grade take the desk next
to you in class. Mark was understandably nervous on his first show but being the
pro that he is, impressed everyone with his acumen.

The Meat Loaf train is gearing up for a run of shows this summer in Europe, the
U.K. and the U.S. The usual suspects will be together on stage once again. I’m
looking forward to the Festival dates that have been booked.

Onto the last piece of business … Utopia 2006. While on the Bullet Train from
Tokyo to Osaka last October I had a conversation with TR in regarding this
subject. We both agreed it would be a good idea.
I didn’t want to mention anything about this until there was a better than slim
chance of it happening. So, will it happen? I hope so. And I will be doing
everything I can to see that is does happen next year.

I’m thinking of doing at least one solo show in the UK while there with Meat
Loaf. There are more than a few days off here and there and assuming I can find
a venue willing to host a show, I’ll will do one for the UK fans. Right now the
most important thing is finishing new material.

That’s about it for now.
