John Roberts House Concert in Modesto   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #119 of 282 |
Here's a reminder regarding the house concert a week from Friday at Steve
Kenworthy's house in Modesto.
This is a chance to hear a master of sea shanties and other folk songs in an
intimate setting. We'll be serving wine, juice, and other snacks.
If you are planning to attend we would very much appreciate an RSVP to help
us plan for refreshments and seating.
Tim Graffhams e-mail is given below or you can RSVP to me.

Northern California welcomes renowned folk singer John Roberts.
Accompanying himself on concertina and banjo, John Roberts, originally from
England, is at the forefront of the English folksong revival. He is widely
recognized on both sides of the Atlantic as a master singer of ballads,
songs of the sea, of rural pursuits, of social and sociable situations, of
industrial toil and strife, and much more. John will be appearing at three
separate venues in Northern California in October:

* Friday, October 19th, 8:00pm. House Concert at the home of Steve
Kenworthy in Modesto.
* Saturday, October 20th, 8:00pm. On board the Balclutha at Hyde
Street Pier, San Francisco.
* Sunday, October 21st, 3:00pm. House Concert in at the home of
Sylvia Herold in Oakland.

Don't miss this rare west coast appearance of one of English folk's finest.
