From traditional music of the sea to nineteenth century ballads, Allan MacLeod and Dick Holdstock captivate listeners from coast to coast with authentic renditions of the songs of their homelands. For over twenty five years audiences have enjoyed singing and laughing along with their outrageous songs and stories.

 

Dick and Allan use mandolin and guitar accompaniments to some of their songs but frequently sing acappella. They have mastered the art of traditional harmonies, often described as descants. Their strong melodic tones resonate with all who have the pleasure of hearing them.

 

Needless to say, an evening of music with Holdstock and MacLeod is a memorable glimpse into a not so distant past. New insights into history and old customs are revealed through their songs of the people.
