Wow, what an afternoon on the deck at Knickers Pub yesterday. The weather
couldn't have been better, the deck was packed and it was standing room only,
and the tunes were amazing, particularly the ones that our dear friend Emily
Randle joined in on with her amazing violin! I think we had all forgotten
(well maybe not all) how wonderful Emily is and what a great twist she gives to
these Tropical Soul tunes. If you missed it, Emily sat in on No Shoes, No
Shirt, No Problem, Savannah Fare Thee Well, Bahama Mama, Practical Dreamer and
several others I just can't remember right now.
It was also a little bittersweet as Irene and John Flinchbaugh joined us
before packing up and heading to Florida later this week for a well-deserved
retirement. John and Irene, we'll miss you, and don't be surprised if we show
at your door someday soon.
Hard to believe that yesterday closed out the summer season at Heritage
Hills yet again. It was a great one this year and hopefully we'll have next
summer to look forward to again.
Check out the website for upcoming gigs (_www.tropicalsoul.net_
(http://www.tropicalsoul.net) ) and we'll see you all at the PH Club meeting at
Underdog's
on Thursday. Don't forget that the club will be collecting funds for a
contribution to the Red Cross for the survivors of Hurricane Katrina.
And even though it's Labor Day Weekend, with Tropical Soul ----- it's always
summer!!!
