Description

The great American mezzo-soprano Tatiana Troyanos lived

from September 12, 1938, to August 21, 1993. She was – and is – opera!

The Tatiana Troyanos Archives website lives on in archived form. Please post any news and thoughts about Troyanos here.

Cavalleria Rusticana, Don Carlo and Der Rosenkavalier have come to DVD, along with La Clemenza di Tito, Tannhäuser, Les Troyens and the legendary Devils of Loudun.

Giulio Cesare with Troyanos as Cleopatra is on CD. Ira Siff applauded I Capuleti e i Montecchi: "I cannot imagine Giulietta [Beverly Sills] finding a more ideal Romeo than Tatiana Troyanos." Così fan tutte, the Mackerras Dido and Aeneas, and West Side Story on CD and DVD have been reissued.

Hear Troyanos on YouTube.

Cori Ellison's Troyanos tribute ("If a picture is worth 1000 words, a voice like that is worth a million") is transcribed at operainfo.org. Her Troyanos obituary and Eric Myers' informative "Fever Pitch" are on Opera News' site.
