Gamelan Tunas Mekar invites you to a celebration of Indonesian
culture presented by the Colorado State University Indonesian
Students Association.
Enjoy a taste of Indonesian food and a entertainment. Food will be
served from 5-6pm at the Sunken Lounge. Show starts at 6 pm, and
includes Indonesian vocal music, a fashion show of traditional dress,
song and dance from Sumatra, traditional Indonesian martial arts,
magic show, and music and dance from Bali with Gamelan Tunas Mekar.
Tunas Mekar will perform the dances Puspanjali and Oleg on the
traditional gamelan angklung; Balaganjur processional music; and on
the stunning Semara Dana orchestra the instrumental piece Liar Samas,
Kebyar Trompong dance, Nubak (a new composition by
artist-in-residence
I Made Lasmawan), and the popular Legong Kraton drama-dances.
