Description
TUTTIFLUTTI! is the email group for ALL flutists in the Northern California -- including the San Francisco Bay Area, San Jose, Oakland and The Peninsula. Flutists of all levels--from beginning students to famous professional performers and teachers--are enthusiatically welcome here. So are flutemakers, flute repairmen, Early Music flutists, jazz flutists, Irish penny whistlers and shakahachi players. Even spouses of flutists can join in. You can talk with our flute community about flute concerts, famous flutists, flute CDs, flute pieces you are working on, local flutists, your flute teacher. You can promote (and shamelessly self-promote) any flute-related activities here--including concerts of all kinds, master classes, lessons, flutes for sale, flute repairs, high school clinics, etc. You can post photos in our PHOTOS section. Tell us about yourself, your flute activities, your ambitions, your opinions. You can share photographs and music files with members of this group. You can share links to interesting flute sites on the Web.
Do you have a question about flute playing or a flute piece? You can ask French flutist Isabelle Chapuis Starr (photo, right)--former student of Jean-Pierre Rampal at the Paris Conservatory; Senior Lecturer in Flute at the School of Music and Dance, San Jose State University (retired 2007 after 33 years on the SJSU faculty); and Principal Flute of the Orchestra of Opera San Jose (since 1982). Be sure to preface your questions with "Hello Isabelle" at the top.
SUBSCRIBE NOW TO TUTTIFLUTTI! It's free. All you have to do to subscribe to our group is send a blank email message to:

Then help us spread the word about TUTTIFLUTTI! Please get all your flutist friends to join this email group. TUTTIFLUTTI! is the most effective and quickest way to stay in touch with everything going on with flutists and flutes in Northern California,

I went to the masterclass last night -- some of Pahud's comments that stood out for me were: "The flute is not a lip instrument -- it's a wind instrument." He
