Hockey fans....
Today we take off our hockey helmets in tribute to Al from the band
Eyes of Hate.
Eyes of Hate were a band that we first played with back in 2001. A
misunderstanding (due to promoter incompetency) led to Two Man and
Eyes of Hate not getting off to the best of relationships, but after
the air was cleared, the two bands became friendly & played several
shows together over the years.
Al was a regular in the Long Island & New York hardcore/punk scene.
He was a friendly face who you always saw at shows & was someone
with whom you could always talk at length about old, obscure bands,
or upcoming shows, or whatnot.
Al was a true scenester who will most certainly be missed.
We heard about Al's death just prior to our show last Friday night
in Brooklyn.
The initial rumor was that he died of a heroin overdose. We just
want to clear that rumor up so that it spreads no further:
Al did NOT die of a heroin overdose.
The truth is that Al's heart was twice the size it should have been
& he had very high blood pressure. He refused to take medication
for his condition, and he died of a heart attack.
Al's funeral will be held tomorrow - on Wednesday, September 7th at
11:15 a.m. at Parkside Memorial Chapels, 98-60 Queens Blvd. (corner
of 66th Ave.), Rego Park, Queens, New York. If you are going by
subway, you will need to take the R or G to 67th Ave. & walk 1 block
west.
For those seeking more info about the funeral, or for those who wish
to sign his memorial guestbook, you can go to:

Two Man will be playing a big tribute/benefit show for Al which will
take place on Sunday, September 18th at Molly Bloom's in Amityville.
We'll send more info about that show next week.
