I'm putting together a documentary that explores the diversity of the
U2 Fan Community around the world and their experiences.
The only way that I can really do that is by using set questions,
with fans recording themselves on a digital camera/digital video
camera, and then sending it to me.
I'm looking for interesting, moving, entertaining, unique,
extraordinary and ordinary stories that U2 fans are willing to share
about their experiences as fans.
The focus of the documentary is on eight categories - Sacrifice,
Social Justice, Emotions, Experiences, Relationships, Inspirations,
Community and Thank Yous - with set questions framed around these
categories. These are open to change depending on where this project
leads.
I'm looking for a little more than 'this is my favourite song/album'.
The vibe that I'm looking for is similar to the confessional booth
used at the Zoo Tv gigs.
Ticket stubs from U2 gig are going to be used for the opening
sequence, and I'm appreciate any scanned copies that I can get my
hands on!
Please email me at gypsyheart@... for further information.
Kind Regards
Natalie
hello,
For those of you who haven't been on Zootopia recently, please take
the time to read this messages. I'm quoting this from the sub/gen and
the free/gen on the board because I hope you will join us.
Quote starts here
I don't need to tell you about the level of (non) service that we are
receiving from Fanfire, and that we have received for the past 3
years. You might have read every post in the other thread and you
know what's going on, but this is for those who haven't.
We have started a letter/email writing campaign to make Principle
Management aware of how bad the situation is, and there are signs
that the tide may change. To turn that "may" into a "will" we need
more people to report their stories to Principle Management, or to
simply copy and paste the letter we have prepared for this purpose.
Waiting three months to get something you have ordered is NOT normal.
Having to call the customer service to receive a gift you were
entitled to is NOT normal.
Receiving the wrong items in your package is NOT normal.
Let your voice be heard.
Whether you've had issues with them or not, if you want you can
support this campaign by writing NOW to Principle Management.

LETTER
Subject: Fanfire's inefficiency
Body:
Dear Principle Management,
With the deepest respect for U2 and yourselves, this letter is
written concerning the practices of Fanfire, the company that handles
your fanclub and official merchandise sales.
I am a member of U2.com and I would like to bring to your attention
some examples of what has been repeatedly happening for the past
three years: extended backorders, lost orders and fanclub
subscriptions not being processed are the most common problems. Many
members who are receiving merchandise find it damaged or receive the
wrong items in the package. When members call or e-mail Fanfire,
Fanfire does not follow up on the complaint for weeks, sometimes
months. There have even been cases of members being double charged
when their orders are reprocessed.
If a company is hired to do a job dealing with the consumer side of a
business, the basic service that is asked of them is to deliver what
they sell. It is my understanding that U2/Principle Management pays
Fanfire to handle this side of your business. The countless mistakes
Fanfire has made and continues to make must generate huge financial
costs to your bottom line due to the replacement of damaged or lost
merchandise, and reprocessing orders. Many U2 fans who frequent
U2.com are now afraid of doing business with Fanfire, be it either
buying merchandise or joining the fanclub, and this also constitutes
a loss of income.
As a U2 fan, I would be most grateful to you if you looked into this
matter and resolved it once and for all.
We love U2. Thank You.
Sincerely with best regards,
Member #_____________

I haven't been in here for some time, but since I popped in to clean up
a spam visitor I couldn't leave without saying hello. :)
I hope that all is well for everyone.
I don't believe that anyone in this group lives in the Ishikawa region,
but my thoughts go out to all of you in Japan today. If you have any
friends or family in that area I hope that they are okay.
Hugs, peace, and smiles.

Yes it is a precious memory that is for sure... I had to check with Bakoly that I had not imagined it all and thankfully both she and Ron saw it too so I know it was not all in my imagination!! Phew! : )

Oh my Anchoup! Thank you very much.
That video clip is brief but SO great!!! He put it down on the
stage then headed out to the other b-stage for Sometimes. I was
center front smashed in between a few bodies at that point and had a
glimpse, so it's fun to see him with it a bit more clearly.
Of course you know it would be incredibly cool if he still had that
crane. We can imagine together.
I also wonder too if any of the other fans held onto theirs. I guess
the most important is that they were triggered in some way to check
out the ONE and Hottokenai compaigns.
Carly, I'll keep peeking around too. I think your memory is the most
precious documentation of your moment by far. :D
Smiles everyone.

I didn't sort the tokyo video yet... still at Brisbane, but I'm seeing
the end of Brisbane! then I'll go on up to Tokyo and keep you in touch
if i make something nice.
Carly, I just checked, and no i don't have anything from One.
However, I noticed that I do have a video with Bono and the crane! I had

I just can't remember what he did with the crane after that. Does anyone
remember? did he put it on the ground? or on some stage box?

AHHHHHH That is SOOOO Fantastic! I am so so so so pleased that happened. Yay to everyone who folded the cranes. Thanks Irene and Max for posting it.
I was wondering whether anyone has any footage from 4 Dec show just after ONE at the first encore when the band came to the front of the stage to wave and thank us all for coming. If anyone has video footage of that please email me so I could somehow arrange to maybe get a copy. I would be most most grateful. Cheers.

I did find this on youtube. You can see a few of them. It's good to

Welcome Stella!
Thank you SO much for finding us.
I really appreciate your perspective about that moment, and I'd like
to believe that Bono did get the message of the cranes. :D He's not
alone in the Hottokenai/ONE work, and I hope that he appreciates
knowing that.
Hoping to see you again.
Smiles.

Yeah, I was there that day as well. I had a seat close to the stage so I saw him pick it up and keep it. I wasn`t sure what it was at the time, as I joined this group after the 12/4 concert, but I did see him pick it up and keep it.I`m sure he would notice if there was a ONE/Hottokenai message on it, as it seems very important to him.Its good to know now what it was, as I could see that he was interested in whatever it was that he picked up.

That must have been an awesome moment for you.
Did he give back the harmonica, then pick up the crane from the stage, or did he pick up the crane at the end of Angel and hold onto it while giving back the harmonica?
He looked at it too? You think that he read the ONE & Hottokenai on it?
Not that all of these details matters much, it's just fun reliving it with you and everyone.
Hee hee, giddy all over again.

That must have been an awesome moment for you.
Did he give back the harmonica, then pick up the crane from the stage,
or did he pick up the crane at the end of Angel and hold onto it while
giving back the harmonica?
He looked at it too? You think that he read the ONE & Hottokenai on it?
Not that all of these details matters much, it's just fun reliving it
with you and everyone.
Hee hee, giddy all over again.
