A mixed choir looking to recruit more male singers has launched a special
incentive to attract new members.
Hertfordshire-based choir Just A Capella is running a "Tenor for a Tenner"
campaign throughout May where visitors can earn £10 if they introduce a male
singer to the group who is then recruited as a member.
The 20-strong group, which regularly performs at fundraising events, boasts a
wide repetoire from popular songs of the 20th century to doo-wop, gospel, swing
and jazz, and is looking to recruit around six new tenors.
The choir, a chorus of men and women who sing a cappella in four, six or eight
part harmony, does a lot of fundraising for Leukemia Research after one of its
members, Patrick Allen, died from the disease last year.
