Dear Mrs. Schwartz, I contacted The VMAS a couple of years ago. I inquired about
release dates for a couple albums. You were very kind to help by having a
gentleman e-mail me with recording dates for the albums; but, I have never been
able to find out the release date for the 45rpm "RCA Smart Set – Dreamland
Special". I know that the original 78rpm album was released in about October or
November, 1946. Since 45rpm records weren't even being made at that time, the
45-Smart Set had to have been released several years later. As far as I know,
45rpm's weren't on the market until 1948, at the earliest.

I know The VMAS-site promotes the discography book by Mr. Garrod. While I'm
sure it's an excellent book, I'm only interested in this one bit of information,
and was hoping to avoid having to purchase the book, because I'm not sure even
it has the information I'm looking for.
