Hi,
I was not able to see WOV in their heyday but I did manage to see Stan's
Drywall, band in Indio, in the mid to late 90s at a really small club called
"House of Brews". I saw this guy that looked like stan outside the cub smoking
a cigarette but I didn't think it could be him (later when I saw him inside I
knew it was him). People were smoking cloves inside and as the opening band
ended, in between the break, I saw Stan just sitting at one of the tables
occasionally people would talk to him and he was making funny remarks. They
played Devo's first album in between bands on the P.A. It was a very intimate
and reminiscent setting. The band was just great! And they did about 4 WOV
numbers with "Ring of Fire" and "Spy World". As Stan was leaving the stage
my sister and I shook his hand and congratulated him on a GREAT performance
and how good his music was! I was really looking forward to seeing him at the
Anaheim HOB last winter, as WOV. It would be great If he could team up with
Chas and the late Marc (may he rest in peace) Moreland's brother for a
reunion tour. And If they could tour with Devo, even better!! I hope Stan
see's
the postings in this groups page. Long live WOV!
