Department of Crooks is a mix of Stan era WOV, and old west meets
modern day sampler-wacky keyboards, drunken party songs- some female
vocal accompaniment- by his wife Freddie? And the other guy on geetar
Sheldon Ferguson-well, I don't know too much about him- does anyone
know his story? Also it says Prieboy did some accompanying pianos-
Anyway, it's definitely a cult album-I would never get rid of my copy
of Plan 9- it's a little diamond in the rough...
When I met marc a couple of years ago the Depart of Crooks subject
came up & he quickly commented on his dissatisfaction with the
quality
of the recording- he mentioned he was workin on some new material-
I'm
still waiting! - You know everybody is always talkin about Stan &
course Prieboy is the best thing since sliced bread but what about
the
core of the WOV sound- a lot is cause of Marc. So buy his related
works and support him!
Ok I'm finished with my rant :)
Also I recommend Pretty & Twisted w/Marc & Johnette Napolitano of
Concrete Blonde- it's circa '95- and very good.
