Even after all these years Bruce still looks stylish. It's nice to
see him after all these years since it looks like I won't be getting
down to Los Angeles this year. Thanks for posting the picture,
Edward! Where was it taken?
Gotta run, but welcome to all who have joined recently!

Well, the reason I haven't talked about Stan's latest release here is because I
figured everyone was already aware of Stan's excellent bulletin board on his
website where so many of us have been talking about it. Anyone who hasn't been
there should check it out at http://www.stanridgway.com/bbs/index.php. Stan
posts there regularly, so go have fun. Go on, get outta here!

The spam is quite disrespectful . I see a message from this news group ,

Since I'm here now , Let me quickly say that the new(est) Stan Ridgeway
album is just a total work of genius .
I knew nothing of it's release , but I guess I owe my coming aware of it
to the first spam terrorist attack that this list got hit with .
Someone responded with news of Ridgeway's tour . That got me into Stan's
web page , which I confess I hadn't been to in a while .
I ordered 'Snakebite' immediately .
One song is worth the total price , but again , the whole album seems a
masterpiece in that everything about Stan seems to be evident , and
perfected .
Talkin' Wall of Voodoo Blues , chronicles the life and times , sorrow
and hard times of the band that was so much more than the evidence
reveals .
What A Song !
I can't believe that "Snakebite' didn't generate more of a ruckus within
this mail group .
If you don't have it yet get over to CD Baby (or Amazon) and get it .
Stan is to much a working musician to want to simply download the files .
All WOV fans have got to hear Talkin' Wall of Voodoo Blues . For me , it
is a true tear jerker .
However it rocks , Ridgeway style

That last spammer has been banned from the list and I have changed
the membership settings to try to prevent that kind of crap in the
future. I've set it so each new member will have to be approved
before being set free to post, so I'm hoping to catch some of the
obvious spammers before they can bother everyone else.
That's it for now. Hasta la vista!

the ice cream truck line , i was quoting for days after first few
listens .
also love drinking in public , i was on my own front porch what's up
(love the space) with that ? personally PS California could very well be
his masterpiece . the final guitar lick to close the album is far out
too .
the rest of the voodoo fans need to get that album and give us your
feelings . it's a beauty .

first i'm happy to get a murmur out of this group . it sounds like it
was a heavy gig killaspida. also , very cool if she paid respects to
marc .
speaking of marc , i think 'bring it to the spotlight' is one truly fine
album , that clearly demonstrates the guys magnificent style , and
ability .
a completely unique entity , who unquestionably progressed to a deeper
dimension with each offering .throughout his career .
shedding light on some of the darker elements of life , while reflecting
on some apparent hard times .introducing a vocals that reveal he could
have been his own front man earlier on .
to be the only guitarist , with no one to try to shape your style , nor
trying to shape another's , is a goal to reach . marc did do that much
in his lifetime .
his own solo album was worth the wait . sorrowful is it's untimely
release .
i will always regard him highly .

Bruce Moreland informed everyone via the Wall of Voodoo Open Forum page
(http://www.wallofvoodoo.com/wallposts/index.htm) that Marc passed away
early this morning about 2:30A.M. in Paris France. He was in the hospital
there after a liver transplant. His wife Frederique was with him. We have
lost a part of our souls but Marc and his music will live forever in our
hearts. RIP, Marc. We still love you.

Hello all,
I got an email from Marc's wife yesterday and here's the scoop.
He is back home (his home in France, that is) at long last, though he still
has to go back to the hospital for visits once a week. His tests are all
done and he's now on a waiting list for a liver transplant. Hallelujah!
Even though he'll still have a long way to go to recovery after he gets the
transplant, at least there is light at the end of the tunnel. Keep up all
the good thoughts and positive vibes that you've all be sending his way for
the past year. Every little bit helps!
As for the release of his latest CD, "Take it to the Spotlight", it's
mostly done except for the artwork. Keep your fingers crossed for a release
relatively soon. It will still be released by Kitchen Whore Records
(www.KitchenWhore.com) so you can keep and eye on their web site if you
like. I'm looking forward to hearing the music!
That's the bare necessities for now. Have a good one.

Hello all,
Just wanted to post a quick note to let you all know that Edward of Nervous
Gender still has a few of those CDs left of the guys in Wall of Voodoo
backing Nervous Gender. I got one myself and I'd forgotten how cool the
music was! The CD's got 8 tracks of the Nervous
Gender "Live at the Roxy" show and 1 track from the Variety Arts Center
show all of which include Marc, Bruce, Ned and Chas, with Joe appearing on
the Variety Arts Center cut. It costs a mere $25, which includes postage,
and you can get it from Edward by emailing him at Nervousgender@....
Speaking strictly for myself, I'm glad I've got one because it brings back
good memories. Get one while they last!
Rock on,

Hello all,
Sorry it's been so long since I've posted an update on Marc, but there
hasn't been all the much to report. At this point it's just a lot of tests
and a lot of waiting. But I got an update from Frederique, Marc's wife,
while I was out of town. I'm finally home and caught up enough on
everything else to compose a post. Most of what follows comes as an edited
copy & paste from what Freddy told me, edited for conciseness so this post
doesn't run on forever. Here goes!
Marc has been transferred to another hospital, the one where his surgeon is
and where the surgery will take place, so he can complete the last few
necessary tests for the transplant list. He's tired and feels weak most of
the time, but doing ok considering, and he's happy to be in this hospital
(if he has to be in one at all) cause it's really good and has the
reputation of being the best for liver transplants.
Freddy continues to give him emails I pass on to her and the stuff from the
open forum and he's always happy to read them, though he feels bad not
being able to write back and thank the people who send them. He wants you
all to know that he appreciates everything you've all said and sent and is
thankful for all the friends and fans who've taken the time to wish him well.
Also, Marc's new solo CD is getting closer and closer to release from
Kitchen Whore Records and I'll keep you posted on that as things develop.
I think that's about it for this update. Thanks to one and all for all
you've done to make Marc's ordeal a little more bearable!
Rock on,
Ms. Vieuxdo

Hello all,
This is for those of you who were wondering how to get your hands on some
Nervous Gender music backed by the guys in Wall of Voodoo. Edward, former
frontman of Nervous Gender, is now making CDs of that available to those of
you who would like to buy it. The CD consists of 8 tracks of the Nervous
Gender "Live at the Roxy" show and 1 track from the Variety Arts Center
show all of which include Marc, Bruce, Ned and Chas, with Joe appearing on
the Variety Arts Center cut. Edward has also included two cuts from
Gobscheit which was a side project of his own from the same time period.
Those don't have any WoV personnel on them, but they're cool bonus tracks.
In addition to all that he has included two tracks from his current
project, "Kali's Thugs". All of this can be yours for a mere $25 (in the
form of a money order), which includes postage and handling. Email Edward
at Nervousgender@... for the payment address and for answers to any
questions you may have about the CD. This is a great opportunity to get
some rare music that's never been available to the general public before,
so grab it while you can. Happy listening!
