The Wayword Sons are one of the sickest new bluegrass ensembles in the
bluegrass game these days. They are even breaking boundaries with the
instrumentation that they use. Remember, Burle wrote a lot of the
songs that Yonder plays, more respect needs to be given to Burle and
the boys. If you are at a Wayword Sons show or happen to see them,
keep the setlist and post it up. I think they are better than many of
the bands that get more traffic on their sites (RRE, HBR, don't get me
wrong, I like both RRE and HBR, but the songs that Burle writes are
just the best you can get these days). Even though I had only 20
people at the show in Memphis, they played like there were over a 100
people there. They were very nice about it too. Sorry about the
rambling, but if you are a Yonder fan, you should be a Wayword Sons fan
by default. People need to start showing support to this band because
they will not be around much longer, if they have to play empty shows
for $5 a pop. Stop taking bands like this for granted because they
could break up and be gone tomorrow, which would make me and many
others very sad.
Mike in Memphis.
