a harp for my daughter   Message List

Clare's harp arrived today. It's a Stoney End Clarseach. You can see
a picture at http://stoneyend.com/harps.html. It's 26 brass strings,
spaced 10-12mm apart, strung D to G with 1 C below middle C.

The harp looks great. I'm learning how to tune it. We'll find out on
Saturday what her teacher thinks of it. Fingers crossed!!

Using her teacher's harp, Clare has been working through Ann's "First
Tune's" book. She's half-way through Butterfly. It's really cool to
watch her fingers dance as she plays. She and her mom play together,
with mom on the piano. They work on reading music, so the teacher can
focus on harp technique.

Clare was just asked to play a wedding in August. Yikes! I told her
maybe she could play a little at the rehearsal dinner, if it's very
informal. At the rate she's going, she'll be through Ann and
Cynthia's first books by then, but that's hardly enough for a wedding.

I want to thank the group for all the guidance and support. An
11-year-old wire harper is off to a good start, and already turning
down gigs!

Thanks again,

I think you are better off having a cardoid small condenser SD pointed at the soundboard about 1/3 from the bottom. Put a second cardoid wide condenser LD just...
