When you say "the manual" do you mean the SysEx manual where the
MULTIMODE VOLUME, for instance, is parameter 131. If so, then you would
need to send a system exclusive message.

On the other hand, do you mean that something that tells you that there
is a channel controller whose id is 131. If the latter, which seems
more likely, then you use CC not RPN or NRPN. I don't think Emu module
support RPNs and NRPNs.

The reason I am confused is that channel volume is more usually on the
controller number 7, not 131.
