The manual for the XL-1 is still downloadable from the Emu website and that one
is not hard to read....

Ok I found an article that says the proteus can be reset holding down the
master and edit during power on, I'll try that. I have no manual, only a
PDF that is really hard to read.

I plugged my qs6.1 into the :XL1 set it to send on MIDI 1, 2, 3 selected
multi in the main window and tried to play, I got a cacophony of sound,
and
now the XL1 has not installed in the display. Turning the selector goes
back to the regular voices but anytime I try to play it it goes back to
not
installed. I can only assume that QS is trying to send a bank change to
the
empty slot or something has happend to the installed XL1 ROM. My version
states it is version 1, I notice there is an XL1 module for sale on E-Bay
that says its version 2 and has 5 banks. Is there a way I can reset this
thing and start over? I will be really upset if I've destroyed my XL1.
