Thanks Tom,
Bob S. [tttsystems@earthlin k.net] (a big thanks to all who have helped me, I
apologies for being such a neophyte) posted a search that returns all the
current ROMs on E-Bay
Yes I will be getting an XL-7 as soon as I can get up the cash, I just
bought a ESI-32 on E-Bay it's got the full load of ram plus a CD and I got
it for less than $100 so I don't think I got hurt. Plus I've always wanted
a Sampler. Everything I read about it on Vintage Synth Explorer sounded
positive. I downloaded the Manual from E-Mu and have been pouring over it
so I hope I won't get in over my head with it. I've got some old SCSI
drives around so I'll probably get an external case and hook that up to it
as well. I continue to be impressed with the XL-7. Since I'm going to
invest in either more modules and an XL-7 is there any reason to buy that
upgraded ROM that's on E-Bay now? Apparently its version 2 and has 5 banks.
Does anyone know if the Proteus 1/2/3 (I'm looking at the 3) have slots for
additional rom banks? Does the Proteus 2000? I keep getting outbid on
these as I don't have time to sit and watch them but at some point I'll
catch one.

Hi John,
I know it sounds obvious but try Ebay....search under EMU ROM and see
what pops up. Alternatively put a wanted advert in the Readers Ads
section of Sound On Sound (www.soundonsound. com).
EMU stopped making these modules because they decided to get out of
hardware and move into software sounds instead....shame.
Here's a list of the expansion ROMs you can get:
Siedlaczek Orchestra 32 MB ROM.
Pure Phatt 32 MB ROM - standard in Mo'Phatt, MP-7 and MK-6.
Beat Garden 32 MB ROM - standard in Orbit 3.
Protozoa 16 MB ROM - standard in Proteus 1, 2, 3.
Definitive B-3 32 MB ROM - standard in B-3.
Techno Synth Construction Yard 32 MB ROM - standard in Orbit 3.
Orchestral Session Vol. 1 32 MB ROM - standard in Virtuoso 2000.
Orchestral Session Vol. 2 32 MB ROM - standard in Virtuoso 2000.
World Expedition 32 MB ROM - standard in Planet Earth.
Sounds of the ZR feat. Perfect Piano 32 MB ROM - standard in Ensoniq
Halo.
X-Lead 32 MB ROM - standard in Xtreme Lead-1, XL-7 and XK-6.
But you'll probably want the Composer ROM that comes in the Proteus
2000 if you want 'ordinary' sounds.
By the way, if you think the XL-1 is good, try and get hold of a
Command Station too(either XL-7 or MP-7)...I think they're awesome.
