Subject: [XL-1] Another New Proteum
I am nearly ready to make the next version of Proteum available. It
has a whole raft of new stuff including:
- Setup/Multimode Editor,
- Sonar Keymap Generation,
- Layer Muting
- User Editable Tooltips,
- Keyboard Latch, Chord and Repeat
- Beat Pads
- Tuning Editor,
- Complete Module Backup and Restore,
and a load of bug fixes. In fact, it pretty much does everything you
can do in the front panel.
But, I need some (a few) people to help me with Beta testing the
code. It would probably take an hour or so of your time. I will
provide detailed instructions on what needs to be done, but
essentially you will need to perform a list of tests and send me a
mail telling me how you got on with each test and enclosing a bunch
of files that I will be able to take a look at.
Its probably preferable if the people doing the testing already use
older versions of the software so we can avoid spending lots of time
on MIDI connection issues and focus on making sure the software
works. However, if that is not possible, then so be it. Also, please
don't sign up for this if you suspect that your module has some kind
of existing problem.
Also, I'd like the test to be performed over a variety of different
module types including keyboards, command stations, a P2500, P2K and
P1K variants and with a variety of MIDI interfaces, where appropriate.
So, if you are interested in helping me out with this, please drop me
a line using mail telling me:
- which module or modules you have,
- what ROMs you have installed in the modules,
- the MIDI interface you are using
and I will get back to you in the next week or two.
I can't really manage too many people so, if I have an overwhelming
response, which is unlikely, then I will pick people on the basis of
achieving the widest possible variety of platforms. So if you sign
up, but don't finish up doing it, then don't feel insulted or
anything.
