Equally though, you do have some sort of responsibility to attend school
orchestra. When I finished school a year ago, I was their only violist. I
didn't particularly enjoy the rehearsals, as the music was far too easy, BUT
when I started school it was the place in which I first learnt how to play
orchestral music and the Head of music pointed out that after the older
players had taught me so much in rehearsals, it was only fair that I should
stay and encourage the younger students when I started finding it too easy.
Where I grew up, there was a severe shortage of teenage string players and
the younger ones just won't keep playing if they don't have older role
models to follow.Just my 2 cents.
