Die Kultnacht

Heaps of mega rare clips, all played in full length, and a quality
you could only dream of! Just so stunning. We already know the
complete song list, so I will just tell you the
highlights. "Waterloo" from "Starparade" was great, also because
they were introduced to the audience after the song. All four and
especially Agnetha looking sensational. "I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do, I
Do" from the Silvester Gala 1975 was new to me and so great to
watch. Before "S.O.S." we see them on their island being interview.
They all look great again, very natural. Linda is sitting on
Agnetha's knees. What follows is a clip mix of "S.O.S." (similar to
the "Waterloo" mix on the MDR special), featuring ABBA sitting on a
rock on their island and parts of their performances of Disco and
the Silvester Gala (with the kiss scene between Agnetha and Frida at
the end!). There were also some scenes from the "Dick Cavett Show".
Their performance of the Swedish version of "Don't Fence Me In",
entitled "Ge Mej En Chans" (though the refrain has it as "Las Mej Ej
In") was shown, as well as a mix of "Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!"
and "Summer Night City". Fun as always: the jam session
from "Olivia!". The clip shown was longer than the one which is
around on the internet. It included next to "Help Me
Rhonda", "Barbar Ann" and Frida's aria also a version of "Jailhouse
Rock". From 1980 on, each clip was a sensation. All "Show Express"
clips from ABBA and Frida from 1980 to 1982 as well as many solo
clips (unfortunately not enough Agnetha clips, wouldn't have minded
to replace two Frida clips with Agnetha clips....though sadly enough
there did not seem to be enough clips of her on German TV....but
what about "Never Again" and "The Heat Is On" and Musikladen???).
Then there was a short interview included, with ABBA standing, late
1982. They look great again and all go on pretending that ABBA would
go on and on and on after 1982.... The clips from "Na Sowas - extra"
were a real highlight, with Frida, Benny and Björn in the same show
in 1984. Frida performed "Come To Me", followed by an interview with
BBA and later on "One Night In Bangkok" with Frida, Karin Glenmark,
Björn and Benny on backing vocals. The special was finished
with "Thank You For The Music" from Star Parade. Then there was
Björn in 1984, saying that he thinks that there will be a new ABBA
album, and then we have Björn in 2002 saying that it will never
happen.....
