Sunday 23rd May
Thank You ABBA Afternoon. This event is to be confirmed next Tuesday 20th April. Full details will be available at http://www.abbanews.com
We will be celebrating ABBA's 30th Anniversary of winning the Eurovision Song Contest with their song "Waterloo". Of course these days the competition now takes place in May and to tie in with the contest the ABBA Day will take place the following weekend.
It's not about Eurovision, this event is ABBA, ABBA, ABBA! If you want to take part in the record & memorabilia fair or know of other people who want to take part then please contact the ABBA News Service for a booking form.
The ABBA Day will include a record and memoribilia fair, video show, ABBA karaoke, and more as activities & ideas are going to be added up until the day of the event itself. There will of course be the ultimate ABBA Disco and this year we have the "Swede Dreams" (on recommendation from ABBA fans who have seen them in the UK, Holland, and Germany) playing at the event too. Marianne & Neil have attended the ABBA days for years. I do listen to fans and although to some tribute bands may not be their cup of tea, then see it as an opportunity to go and get a meal and get ready for the disco & fashion competition. Fans by the way have the chance to place their votes as to which ABBA songs they want "Swede Dreams" to play that night but votes have to be placed via the web site: http://www.abbanews.com/abbaday.html by 25th April by e-mail. I'm sure it will produce some interesting results and out of the votes counted "Swede Dreams" will perform the Top 15 songs chosen.
The ABBA Day has no sponsorship. Ticket prices cover the expenses/costs of running the ABBA Day event.
Details of hotels and other contacts for accommodation are also available on the web site.
Look forward to seeing some of you there.
All the best. Kathryn
