Sorry about deleting my last post. I don't even know how that happened. Tony,
I'll be sending you a list of all the computer books in about a weeks time. Just
going to take a while to compile.

Don't worry, poor Tony LOL... I was so mixed up

about the shirts, I deleted it and it still running
:)

Sometimes when I finish to write a message I "really push
the POST button" and...oops! No message on the Home

"Did I push the post or the preview button???", well I
write another message and when I'm back on the main

It's not bad...The Academy got 40725 views and the Anvil Home page 49460. It
would be cool to have the Academy inside the Anvil site, why not?

Tange!!!!!!!!!!!!!!very very good!!you're the
only one that got it! and Blood for Blood will not be
the next tittle. Actually the notes and words for
Computer Drone are the only thing that's different about
the two songs. The feel is the same, but with Bridge
of Sighs the feel is different but the notes are the
same. It is amazing and in fact we've done other things
threw the years that you might have figured out but I'm
sure not all of it. Go threw the Anvil collection and
try to decode what you can and post your findings.
I'd be interested to see what people have noticed
about some of the tunes. I have to say that Tange wins
the award for decoding!!

I'll be honnest LIPS...I'm not so good. You see
Slug and I chat a lot about old rock, old prog and
similarities. He found out about "Paranoïd" and I must say that
it's so interesting to discuss about music with him
cos he's got a very analytic mind.

He found
the similarity between "Computer Drone" and
"Paranoïd" during July. Slug is the man, not me. But I was
surprised of the "similitude", the red album album of Grand
Funk Railroad is not young. Just Like
us...

About the title, it's up to you. But why don't you
write about sex anymore? Now that I understand English,
maybe I would laugh me too. I hope that the last
attacks and crashes didn't inspire the next album, I
don't want to hear about anthrax and other
stuff..."Tower for a Tower"..kind of. Please no!

Tange :)

I took my dictionary and I can answer for real.
If you didn't mention that FiF were on the same
notes that Brigde of sighs, I wouldn't post about
"Computer drone".

You know man, you can take your
notes where you want and arrange them the way you want.
I liked "Lips" (in 1981) for the SOUND, I liked
Anvil (1982) for the SOUND and now I do cause you
continue to record, to play live and to communicate your
energies to people after...a couple years (PoP's SOUND is
great too). I'm not going to search for similarities
and post it, cause I'm not the guitarist that you
are.

I have many good memories of partys with friends,
Anvil's tunes playing and...things that I can't write on
this board :) I understand you find it funny, but it
kills the dream. I don't want to decode, I want to keep
it pure...and I WANT ANOTHER ALBUM!

Keep on
Rocking!

Hopelessly devoted :)) Tange ;)

So far there are 7 new tunes. I would call it
more continueing with the direction of the last couple
of cd's. Still looking for those power riff songs.
We hope to be recording early in the new year. So by
next summer we'll all have new Anvil to listen to.

like FiF or Computer Drone?
Are you planning to
record again with Pierre Rémmillard at the board?

Good to hear that you guys are going to do some
more power "riff" tunes. Nothing is better than a
powerful tune that has a great riff. I think Sluggit said
it right. Some slower, powerful tunes would be
great. I think most fans love to sing to the tunes when
driving and songs like FiF are perfect. A wise man once
told me that you don't have to be fast to be heavy,
just listen to FiF and other bands like Sabbath and
unfortunately Metallica.

I wouldn't be able to listen to a whole slow
songs cd, the same for a whole fast tunes cd. Slug's
"The Mime" is not always slow. "Fast fingers" takes
you on a ride!

I think that staying in the
middle, I mean few songs slow, few songs fast and...few
songs "real Anvil" should do a good album. What's a
real Anvil song? It's a song that you can't describe
the style. You don't know if it's metal, heavy rock
or progressive (March of the crabs. The Creep,
Concrete Jungle).
Will they do a cover
song???

Tange :)

I like them to mix it up. Put some slow grinders (FiF, Destined For Doom), some
fast ones(Shadow Zone, Real Metal) and some mid tempo....it all works!!!!

I can't agree with you more Tony. That's what
made FiF and MoM such classics. There was a bit of
everything for everyone on those releases. Tange said it
perfect too. A cd with just slower powerful tunes would
put you to sleep.

So much on my mind and yet so little to say....I
was out of town today. My band joined other bands in
a "Musicians United For Freedom"(MUFF!)concert to
benefit police, fire and EMS personnel. We met some great
people, drank some cold brews and played some good music
all for a great cause. The sun was out and a good
time was had by all. Almost got on the evening news
but one TV station filmed before we played and
another came just after we finished.
I really used
to like that Canadian band Teaze. "Red Hot Ready",
"Boys Night Out" and "Rockin To The Music" were a few
of their tunes. We used to do some serious
air-guitar sessions at my budds house and they used to get
played a lot. Also one time(June 6, 82) we stumbled into
a club in Lake George, NY and got flattened by The
Hunt. Not very fancy but they rocked with power! I went
right out and got their LP the next day. Here's a show
I caught in 1977-Rush, Angel and Max Webster!
Caught 2 ANVIL shows in Albany, NY-Mar. 21, 85 and May
18, 85. First ANVIL concert for me was on Feb. 21, 83
when they opened for Aerosmith(I used to write all
this stuff down in a notebook). And The LAST time I
saw ANVIL play was on Nov. 27, 1988 !!!That's a
loooong freekin time ago!!! Yes, the vibrator came out
then. I always wanted to see Moxy, love their first 3
albums. Helix came down here a few times, the singer
would do flips off the stage onto the floor! Crazy! And
finally, if anyone watches the Drew Cary Show this
Wednesday-Motorhead appears in the episode! Set the VCR's for
that.
You axed for it,
Catdeli

I think I'll use this site to leave messages the
other site is too confusing to use. It does look better
but is harder to get were you want to go, in fact
I've tried to post a couple of times and have been
unsuccessful, oh well. Hope everyone is doing well. Catelli ,
you'll have to see us sometime when we play in the US
again. 1988 is too long ago. It's interesting that you
mentioned the band The Hunt, Robb and I have wondered what
Jaques the keyboard and flute player from that band was
doing these days. The drummer Paul is in a country a
western band and lives in St. Catherines Ontario. I've
always wished I could have a heavy keyboard player in
the band or maybe just a song or 2 would be really
cool. The guy in the Hunt was a thought as he uses a
Hammond B3 and has that sound I'm thinking about. On
Plenty of Power the second guitar solo in Ball of Fire
could have easily been a B3. You never know what could
happen in the future. The last time I saw Jaques was at
a music store about 15 years ago, his hair was all
silver!! I don't think he's that old he just went grey
very early. If anyone out there knows him tell him I'd
like to talk to him!!

I believe that there's always a solution at
all:

1. The link that appears on Anvil Home Page is for
the page called "The Lounge".

2. It will be
supposed to be linked on "What's new", where all new
messages appear and where we see a big Anvil
jpg.

3. At the left of all windows, you have a menu (like
in Yahoo)

4. But before to try to post, you
got to "log in" or "sign in". If the logo at the top
is a GREEN "sign in", it's because you're not
allowed to post. When it's a RED "sign out", it means
that you're still logged.

5. Click on "sign
in", they ask you a hotmail address and the name you
want to use. Then, you're logged and got the right to
post.

6. The lounge page is not the only place to enter.
In the left menu, you click on message
board.

7. You got to options: VIEW: Discussions with
replies or Discussions only.

8. Discussions with
replies gives you a better idea. The difference between
Yahoo and MSN, it's the fact that you can divide the
messages by topics.

9. The menu and the "sign in",
"sign out" can always be seen.

Anyway with this
nice remarks, I have a big doubt that I'll find other
members Lips. Does the MSN board is confusing, or if you
are sometimes confused on the web? My Forum was
different, you're music is too and I never said it was
confusing. I like different things, that's why I'm an Anvil
fan. You don't have to be a fan of my Forum and you
don't have to post it like that cos I feel embarassed.
Why didn't you email me? That's not fair. I think
that's all.

ÉR

Please don't take my comments to heart, I'm a
computer illiterate and have many problems understanding
all the information that appears on my computer
screen. I more than appriciate your commitment to Anvil,
infact out of all the people that write into this
academy by far your posts are much more entertaining and
completely informed with what the band is up to, both
musically and buisness wise. It was not nessessary to
remove the MSN forum, as I would have enjoyed seeing
what might be written there. By the way we have 8

will be 9. I'll keep you up to speed as we move along.
